We loved it!

The campsite was large and the views were spectacular. The camp store was great and the folks were nice.

We really enjoyed the restaurant! The owner and staff were extremely friendly and the food was great.

A beautiful campground!

This is our favorite place to stay when visiting the Capitol Reef area! We have been here a few times now and keep coming back! The views of the canyons are breathtaking and very close to downtown Torrey. The sites are well maintained and groomed daily, as well as clean. The staff are very friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Some of the sites along the back near the fence are a bit tight, however the pull throughs are spacious. We have also stayed in the cabins before and are cute and roomy with nice private back “yards” and front porches with chairs. The pool area is a bit small for the size of the campground and could use some upkeep, however still enjoyable. The gift shop is a must see and the best one near Capitol Reef! There are many clothes, trinkets, Native American decor, and camping supplies to choose from. There is now a grille however it is expensive. Sites are gravel with some full hookup and other partial hookup. It was a bit noisy due to the campground being full and the sites are somewhat close together and close to the cabins. The campground could use some more room as they have tried to fit a lot of sites and amenities into a “smaller” campground. The views are truly breathtaking and easy access to hiking trails, OHV trails. This is a must visit campground if you are looking to take in the beauty of the colorful Utah canyons!

Filthy Dirty Cabins

Save your money and skip the cabins. Dated and dirty. The owner would not acknowledge the fact that the cabin was dirty and said her housekeeper doesn’t make mistakes. Did not offer to send someone over to clean it properly. Did not want to see pictures of the dirty cabin. Did not offer to compensate us in any way.

In addition, the laundry room near the cabins had dirty smelly washers full of dog hair and dryers with dead bugs in them.

Park near to Capital Reef

Nice pull through sites with lot to offer. There is a store barbecue restaurant that serves various food you can order and eat in site or bring to campsite. Eleven miles from entrance to park. Rest room and showers clean. They do have laundry facilities. Lots of great hiking in the park. Hunt and Gather excellent up scale dining.

Friendly Campground

We walked in to see if there were any sites. The staff was very accommodating and put us right into a site for our Sprinter. At dinner on site as well which was very good and made to order. Nice fire pit inside restaurant.

Nice Place, good restaurant

This is a good location for visiting Capitol Reef.  The sites were nice.  Gravel with trees.  Bathrooms were good and clean.  The pool was nice.  There's a decent little camp store and the staff was very helpful.  A unique feature of this campground is having a nice restaurant --which I believe is entirely independently owned-- right in the middle.  Torrey Grill & BBQ served great food in a really pleasant, covered patio.

OMG what views

First of all staff is amazing, so friendly and consistent maintenance routines (not annoying though).

Sites are all gravel with a little grass patch, pull through sites could fit two side by side. All sites seemed to have a table and fire ring. The views on the north and east were stunning, North was all back in and East had some pull through spots, aim for these if you can. They also have tent and cabin sites available.

Facilities were very clean. Office/general store was nice, all the basics; food, ice, wood and souvenirs. Pool is small but well kept. There is a large park area in the center with a playground and volleyball court. Super kid friendly. Bathroom/shower were very clean, a little reminiscent of my scouting days though having plywood doors and gate hinges, does the job though.

Only bad things I can say is that it’s not walking distance to town and no adult beverages sold. Plan ahead and that should not be a problem.

I will definitely stay here again given the chance.

Outside Torrey

We got a tent site. The tent sites are all gravel with a table and water. The good: Location close to Capitol Reef National Park. We used it as a base camp for hiking in the national park. Has water, table, fire pit, and wind break. The small swimming pool was loved by the kids The grassy park area was nice. The views. Red cliffs and Thousand Lakes Mountain to the north and Boulder Mountain to the south. The bad: Not enough trees. There are several small very pruned Cottonwood trees, but it is not a shady place. Small spaces. Like most RV parks, you are very close to your neighbors. Everyone near us was quite and kind though. There is no grass for the tent sites. You put your tent in gravel. About the only grass is very small pieces for the RVs and the grassy park area.

Can’t wait to go back

This campground was clean and calm. We liked having the store on site, and the drive to Capitol was an easy one. The staff was very friendly, the showers and bathrooms were very clean, and we loved the open lawn in the middle. We really liked how shallow the fire ring was. Capitol Reef is one of our favorite National Parks , and we will camp here next time we go!

Your gateway to the Boulder Mountain

This is one of the nicest camp spots around. Close to town but close to the boulder mountains. Full hook ups for trailers. Cabins you can rent, and tent spots. Best views in Utah. If you like red dirt this is the place to be. Close to Capital Reef or the Boulder Mountains. The owners are on site and are very friendly. Lots of stuff to do in Torrey. They have a store on site plus it is close to gas station if you forgot anything.

Make sure you reserve a spot of Apple Days in July it is a fun time to be in Torrey. Lots of stuff going on. This place is busy all summer long so it is best to call ahead. Spring and Fall is amazing in Torrey and is not as hot as the summer months.
