Really love thousand trails
Fantastic park spacious private lots
Plugged in but off grid
Great spot for kids filled with activities! A walking trail to the beach however you do have to cross the highway! Most of the RV sites are quite small that barely fit their provided picnic table and firepit. Tmobile and Verizon get no cell phone service in camp!
Beautiful campground
This is a Thousand TrAils campground and well maintained. The campground is divided into a north and south side. We stayed on the south side with concrete pads that were nestled in between trees. We were here during significant rainfall and appreciated not being in mud. Most sites have trees or shrubs for privacy. The showers were immaculate as was the campground. Camp staff were friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.
Thousand trails campground
Very close to Newport. It has been raining very hard and the campground is not a mud hole. Most sites have concrete pads. Some even have cable TV. I will make this one of my go to places during the coming year
Cozy Cabins
My parents, my fiancé and I shared a cabin here. 1 queen bed for my folks and bunks for us. Tight quarters but all the basics are covered.
Excellent spot!
We had a quick stay, but the RV sites were perfect for our family. Sites were wooded, private and staff was really friendly. Check in online was a plus.
Perfectly Perfect
Great campsites friendly knowledgeable staff! We will be back. Just wish they had Wi-Fi....

Fantastic Campground
We stayed during the rainiest five days I’ve ever camped....but still had a great time. We were able to bike to town and the staff was fantastic.
Not recommended for tents
While this resort has a lot of amenities (none open during covid) and is close to Newport, it is not worth it if you are tent camping. The spots were all small and close to each other. AND it was $43. Way too expensive for the experience we had.
On the plus side: Staff was nice and bathrooms were clean.
I can't recommend the RV option because I don't have an RV, but I will say the spots look right and close to your neighbors.
Regular Old Thousand Trails
This place was just okay. The best part is its proximity to the gorgeous Oregon beach. We were able to ride our bikes right from the campground to the beach and then go for miles. The campground, however, is nothing special. The plethora of full-time campers really cheapens the place but that seems to be what you get at Thousand Trails these days.
It’s Fine... just fine.
Camping spots are sizable, poorly maintained, but sizable. Ours had a giant tire rut in front of it, which was just a huge mud pit the entire time we were there. Side from that, it was quiet, the staff was helpful and polite and even though the amenities were closed due to Covid they seemed well taken care of.
It is a bit difficult to navigate for longer rigs, but for the most part it’s an ok park for a short stay.

Worthy destination
Many amenities, but too few rest rooms. Our site was not large enough to accommodate our trailer and auto. Much construction work going on at main entersnce at the time of our stay. Were short handed several days so convenience store was not able to open. Campsites ok, but close. One way traffic nice.
Relaxing
We’ve been here a few times. It’s aleays very relaxing. The facility is clean, there is a nice workout room, two lodges with store, pool and hot tub and mini golf. Kids enjoyed playing on the playground and walking to beach from trail.
Great
We absolutely love Whalers rest. Staff is awesome, so much to do, and located very near the ocean. Spent the whole winter on the coast and this by far was the best place.
Great activities but mediocre sites
Whalers has some great amenities. The pool, mini golf, play ground and other fun games. I was disappointed with the quality of the sites including the size. Many sites you will need to be skilled at leaving your trailer. Also be very skilled at backing in as they can be at less then ideal angles. Cable and full dump sites are nice. Accra to the beach is a short walk and a quick dash across the highway. We did manage to find a spot that provided some privacy. But that was not the norm as we explored the campground.
Great Place to Camp
We love the Whaler's Rest. So many good areas for kids to play and the staff really does a great job planning activities for the whole family.
