FE Warren AFB Crow

FE Warren AFB Crow Creek operates year-round as a military family campground requiring base access through Gate 5. Campers navigate a specific route involving Old Glory Road's surface railroad crossing, as the primary access gate remains closed and the underpass restricts RV height to 11.5 feet. The facility provides full hookups including electric, water, and sewer connections, plus a dump station and WiFi access.

Gravel sites vary in levelness and sit among numerous trees, with prairie dogs active throughout the grounds. Railroad tracks run nearby, though the area maintains no-train-horn status to minimize noise disruption. The base commissary and exchange store offer convenient shopping just down the road from the campground. Pronghorn deer frequently wander the base grounds, adding wildlife viewing opportunities.

Michael C. noted the navigation challenges but concluded, "As for the Camp, great facility. Office closed on the weekend, self check in. This is a come back place!" Weekend arrivals use self-check-in procedures when staff aren't available. During winter months, the campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis at reduced rates, though water and sewer services become unavailable during winterization periods.

For additional camping choices in the region, explore campsites near Cheyenne. Reserve ahead during peak season, as this facility attracts both military families and civilian campers with base access privileges.

Directions

Please use gate 1 (24/7) at exit 11 on I-25 (also labeled Randall Ave). A general rule – once on base, do not go under any underpasses – they are low and narrow and we don’t want you to bump your head. From gate 1, continue on Randall Ave to the second stop light; go left onto Old Glory Rd. At the next light, go right onto Missile Dr (past the commissary). Continue on Missile Dr (apx 1 mile) until you see the FamCamp sign on the side of the road. Turn onto the gravel road at the sign and follow it though the trees into the camp.

Military campground offers spacious sites with full hookups and good amenities, though some leveling challenges exist. Base access required with complex directions, but convenient location near town and base facilities.

Over night stop on way Rushmore

Was nice one night stop on way to Mt Rushmore area. Did loose power about midnight. Same to neighbors power. Both our power protectors said reverse polarity. 25 minutes later power came back on.??? Was good night stay with daughter and two grandsons. In August 2020.

Siteon end of row, no trees.

Home bound

Directions need to include crossing two bridges after dirt road. Very nice park and large spaces. Top of the line for a military camp

Nice Fam Camp

Sites are gravel and not all are very level. Grounds are not well maintained. Lots of trees. Prairie Dogs are prolific. Pronghorn deer wander all over the base.

Great Facility

There’s a old saying. “Getting there is half the fun.” Ok we didn’t have fun. The primary access gate is closed, a sign inside the base says “details on FB”. Thanks! We entered the base via Gate 5. Easy enough. Then followed the signs. Which took us to a rail road underpass with a No RV sign and posted 11 1/2 ft clearance. Sigh! Found Old Glory Rd with a surface crossing. Presto! The base commissary and AAFES exchange is right down the road. So to recap. Enter base via Gate 5. Turn left on Rogers Ave, left on Randall, right on Old Glory, right on Missile Dr, right on S Creek Dr and left on Fam Camp rd.
As for the Camp, great facility. Office closed on the weekend, self check in. This is a come back place!

Basic Site

Has everything you need as far as hook ups and bathroom/showers. More of a place to park and then drive to where you plan on doing things as there are no activities at the grounds. Need base access in order to use.

Nice area

Nice camping area. Downside is the train tracks are close by. Not a problem though, it is a no train horn area. Nice RV spots with water and electric. Sewer dump on property as well. Tent camping is available as well as cabins. Lots of history at F.E. Warren AFB.
