Grelle - Lake Travis

With multiple access options including boat-in, drive-in, and walk-in routes, Grelle - Lake Travis accommodates various camping styles along the shores of Lake Travis. The campground provides flat sites with water views, though lake levels can fluctuate significantly during drought conditions. Each site includes picnic tables and fire rings, with clean restroom facilities accessible from all camping areas.

Campers can pursue hiking, kayaking, mountain biking, and horseback riding directly from the campground. The trail system winds through hills surrounding the lake, offering numerous vantage points and wildlife viewing opportunities. Deer frequent the area and often remain unbothered by human presence. Springs feed into the lake, creating pockets of cooler water that swimmers can discover by wading in from shore.

The on-site camp host maintains the facilities and assists visitors with questions about the area. "Clean & flat sites, water views, quiet, convenient facilities from every site," notes Lisa B.. Wildlife sightings include wild hogs, porcupines, and various snake species in addition to the deer population.

For campers seeking additional options in the region, Krause Springs lies less than a mile west. The campground allows alcohol and pets, making it suitable for group gatherings and family camping trips with four-legged companions.

Many visitors reported clean, flat sites with convenient amenities and helpful hosts. The park offers excellent hiking trails and wildlife viewing opportunities, though occasional generator noise from other campers may affect the peaceful atmosphere.

Great little spot for a night

Only there for one short night but it was delightful to sit in the water of lake Travis and watch the stars on a warm texas summer night. I’m guessing it gets crowded during the day but I had enjoyed my evening there.

A perfect spot!

I brought my family of four here for our first solo camping trip with two littles and we loved it! The drought caused the lake to be pretty dried up so our water front view didn’t have much water! That didn’t take away from how beautiful the view was from spot 11! The camp host was exceptionally kind and really takes care of the park! Already making plans for our next trip!

Great time!

Super clean park, had a great time out here. There were lots of deer, really neat to look at. The deer didn’t even seem bothered by us. Convenient dumpster, restrooms, fire pits, and grills! Great view of the sunrise/sunset.

This spot is my favorite!

The hiking is beautiful! This was my first time swimming in a spring. As you walk into the lake (walk fast if you dont want to get bitten) you will find pockets if cooler water spouting up. Its kinda like stepping into a refridgerator but underwater. Personally my camping experience was ruined by the generator a couple spots down - constantly on and did not take a break - so it kinda ruined the beauty of the outdoor experience for me. But this is truly a beautiful place!

My park

When the water level was down, there was not a soul around. I considered it "My park". There are a lot of trails, running up and down the hills. Great scenery and there's always wildlife around; wild hogs, porcupines, scunks, snakes, etc.. I imagine now that the water level is up it is lot more popular destination.
