Edwin King Atwood Park

Drive-on beach camping defines the experience at Edwin King Atwood Park, where RVs and trailers of any size can access the sand directly from the road. The $14 daily fee covers beach driving privileges, though soft sand conditions require careful navigation to avoid getting stuck.

Campers share the beach with day-use visitors who bring party atmospheres and music, while fishing and swimming activities overlap in the same areas. Basic facilities include showers and restrooms located at a pavilion near the main parking area. For those preferring separation from vehicle traffic, a designated tent-only zone blocks off driving access, accessible by walking from the parking lot.

Drive onto the beach

Like most texas beaches you can drive on to the beach here. Fee is 14$ in 2025. Can pull in any size camper or trailer just don't get stuck in soft sand. Lots of the people you'd expect that drive on to beaches- party and music types, also no segregation between fishermen and swimmers. There are showers and toilets at pavilion by parking lot. I parked at parking lot and walked in with tent to area blocked off from driving.
