Rufus RV Park

RV travelers navigating the Columbia River Gorge will find Rufus RV Park positioned as a practical overnight stop in the small town of Rufus. The park accommodates rigs up to 65 feet with full hookups including electric, water, and sewer connections across level pull-through sites surfaced with gravel.

The campground separates short-term and long-term guests into distinct sections, with grassy areas maintained between individual sites. A modern bathhouse provides showers and restrooms, while on-site laundry facilities handle longer-stay needs. The park maintains WiFi service that reviewers note performs better than typical for rural Oregon locations. Dog owners will find designated walking areas, and the property allows pets throughout.

Traffic noise from nearby I-84 carries across the park, though the sound level varies by site location. George L. notes the "bathhouse is new and seems clean," reflecting the property's maintenance standards. Check-in operates through an envelope system for late arrivals, with site maps and routing details posted at the office.

The location serves campers touring the Columbia River Gorge region, positioned within driving distance of Giles French Park and other area recreation sites. Cell service reaches the park reliably, supporting connectivity needs for travelers passing through this section of north-central Oregon.

Campers regularly cited the level sites, modern facilities, and friendly host as key strengths. Some noted distant highway noise, but most found the park peaceful and well-maintained for overnight stays.

Well run and maintained

Arrived late and found an envelope with all my check in details posted in front of the office, including park map with highlighted route to my site. All of the facilities were clean and the ground were clear of litter and well maintained, which must be a challenge considering the lawns between the sites. Rufus itself is not a destination; we were in and out in one night, but we found the Rufus RV Park to be a peaceful and dog-friendly stopover.

Perfect for Overnight Stay

Friendly host who answers phone herself. Separate sections for short- and long-term guests. Level pull-through sites with gravel and well- kept grassy areas in between. Modern bath house and laundry area. Lots of potted flowers. Dog-walking area. Distant traffic noise from I-84. I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Lovely location, oveall good site

We used to tour the Colombia Gorge although it’s a bit far away. It is in a lovely scenic location with some trees. Bathhouse is new and seems clean. Sites are gravel and pretty level wifi is better than usual.
