Rufus Landing

This US Army Corps of Engineers site provides free dispersed camping on a gravel lot along the Columbia River for up to seven days within any 30-day period from April through October. The open camping area accommodates RVs up to 45 feet with basic toilet facilities available. Generators are permitted as long as they don't disturb other campers, and the site includes ADA accessibility.

Campers can launch kayaks directly into the river or try their luck fishing from the shoreline. The gravel surface provides level parking but no hookups or shade structures. For additional camping options, visitors can explore places to camp around Wasco or check nearby Rufus RV Park for full-service sites. Reserve your spot early in the season when demand peaks.

Free campingin the Columbia River Gorge

Up to 7 days allowed in a 30 day period for free boondock/dry campingbetween April 1 and October 31. Open camping rock/gravel lot in designated areas. 1 pair of toilets available (His/Hers). I ran the generator in my class c rv all night without a problem but made sure I was away from other campers. There is a rule that it cannot annoy other people.
