This year-round KOA campground accommodates RVs up to 80 feet with full hookups on gravel sites alongside tent camping and cabin rentals. Located directly off Interstate 25 in Fountain, the facility provides drive-in and walk-in access with reservation availability. The property features open terrain with limited tree coverage between closely spaced sites.
Highway noise from I-25 reaches most areas of the campground, with some reviewers noting they can hear individual vehicles crossing road joints. Jessica D. found "bathrooms were clean/well maintained," while multiple campers mention the cleanliness of restroom facilities and hot showers. A small creek runs behind the property, and mountain views include Cheyenne Mountain and Pikes Peak from various sites.
The campground operates a water park with slides, pools, and splash features, though maintenance quality varies seasonally according to reviews. Additional amenities include a jump pad, playground, outdoor kitchen, and camp store that reviewers consistently praise for its selection. Weekend activities like gem mining and tie-dye shirt making cater to families. Deah W. appreciated the "outdoor kitchen and wash room" as a standout feature.
Sites include picnic tables and some offer covered areas resembling carports. The facility maintains WiFi service, though connectivity can be intermittent. Staff members patrol in golf carts to assist campers, and quiet hours begin at 11 PM. Construction projects have been ongoing to expand tent camping areas.
For campers wanting mountain forest settings, Cheyenne Mountain State Park offers a different experience west of the area.
Description
Imagine waking up to the beautiful view of Pikes Peak (14,115 feet above sea level), the most visited mountain in North America. Visit Garden of the Gods, Cave of the Winds (try the Bat-a-Pult ride!), and other area attractions. Stay in a fully equipped Cabin, pitch a tent or pull into an RV Site (including extra-large sites). If you are planning a rally or family reunion, this KOA has a hall for those scrumptious potlucks or have them catered by the staff. During the summer, enjoy our splash park, take a dip in the heated pool, or relax in the hot tub. Pets will have a great time being with their families, meeting new dogs, running in the dog park, or trying out the agility park. With so many things to do at KOA and in the area, you will want to stay as long as you can! The campground staff looks forward to seeing you. Pool: Open Year Round. Max pull thru 80 feet.
