Thousand Trails Turtle Beach

Large grass sites spread along the San Joaquin River delta, where RVs up to 45 feet can access full hookups including electric, water, and sewer connections. Thousand Trails Turtle Beach operates year-round in Manteca, accommodating everything from day-use visitors to tent campers and big rigs on spacious grounds that extend to the water's edge.

The campground provides basic amenities with mixed reviews on facility conditions. Some campers encounter portable restroom facilities rather than permanent bathrooms, though cleanliness receives consistent mentions across reviews. Each site includes a fire ring and picnic table, with WiFi available throughout the property. David B. notes staying on a "large grass site next to the water" with plenty of room for pets and people to roam.

Access requires navigating what some describe as a narrow entrance road. The nearby delta provides recreational opportunities, while essential supplies remain within a five-mile drive. Staff presence varies, though managers typically escort guests to their assigned sites. Limited clubhouse activities and amenities reflect the campground's current operational scale.

Campers seeking additional overnight options can explore places to camp around Lathrop or consider Dos Reis County Park for a different riverside experience.

Guests frequently mentioned the spacious, well-maintained sites and friendly staff as key strengths. Facilities showed mixed results with clean dump stations but concerns about portable restrooms and limited amenities.

Still a 4-star park worth the trip

This may not be the park it once was, but it's still far better than most in the area. Showers and clubhouse activities are still limited, but the nearby delta offers its own attraction. Day use, tents, and every class of RV are easily accommodated. No shopping or supplies nearby, but anything you may want or need is within 5 miles. It is very relaxing and one of the first sites I try to book if I'm in the area. Hands down better than the county parks.

If You Like Highway Noise

This is a Thousand Trails resort. Resort, not so much. They have rolled in porta-bathrooms with showers. Road in is narrow and bad. Lots of weekenders who leave rigs there all week. Stayed 1 night on way south.
