Kings River Falls Campground

Water access drives the appeal at Kings River Falls Campground, where the Kings River creates natural swimming holes and fishing spots for campers willing to navigate the private property's detailed access requirements. This privately managed campground requires advance reservations through their website, which provides specific directions to the secluded location near Pettigrew.

The campground's spacious sites offer room for families and pets, with campsite #5 noted by visitors for its generous layout. Sites provide enough separation that campers report being able to see neighboring campers without hearing them. Dogs particularly benefit from the open space and creek access, though water levels fluctuate seasonally. Spring typically brings higher water levels to the river, while late summer and fall may reveal more exposed creek beds.

Cell service remains limited throughout the property, creating what one visitor called an opportunity to "put your phone away and get back to nature." The campground provides basic amenities including toilets, picnic tables, and allows campfires, with drive-in, walk-in, and hike-in access options available. For additional camping options, visitors can explore camping near Pettigrew.

Booking through the campground's website remains essential, as Rhonda L. notes they "will then give you very detailed directions to their private property."

Very pretty, pretty secluded, but our site was trashed.

I love the area we stayed at. Right by the water, surrounded by nature, not a lot of traffic. Felt unplugged from the hectic daily life, and connected to nature. But, the specific site we had booked was absolutely covered in trash. Like 3 full bags of trash that had been ripped open by animals. A lot of the trash was food, which caused flies. We ended up just moving to the furthest campsite away from the original site. It was obviously the previous campers fault, but I just wanted to put this out there so that 1.) the trash problem can be addressed and 2.) we wouldn’t be blamed for the massive mess. There was another set of campers there at a different site, and they noticed the problem also. Overall a really cool place, just wish people didn’t trash the spot.

Beautiful

We had campsite #5 and loved how much room we had! You are close enough to see your neighbor campers but we couldn’t hear them at all. We had 2 dogs that loved the space too. Not much water right now on the river but will be back in the spring!

Amazing campground! You have to book through their website!

I saw the reviewer that claims that they could not find the campground. You have to book your stay at this private campground through their website. They will then give you very detailed directions to their private property. It is one of the most beautiful spots in Arkansas. Highly recommend.

Absolutely stunning

Less than a minute from the Kings River Falls Trail-head, and nestled alongside the headwaters of the Kings River in Venus Arkansas. This is a remote and rugged campground with caves, bluffs, swimming holes and river a plenty. This campground has a grand exhibition of the same sandstone formation that is responsible for the Whitaker Point(Hawksbill Crag) formation, as well.
