South of the Superstition Mountains, this dispersed camping area spreads along several miles of gas line road on Arizona State Trust Land. Campers access the sites by driving slowly over uneven, rocky terrain that becomes particularly challenging after rain storms, with washouts and rough patches requiring careful navigation.
The area features numerous campsites of varying sizes scattered along the access road, including some large enough to accommodate multiple RVs. One reviewer successfully positioned a 36-foot and 39-foot toy hauler at the first site from the entrance, while another managed a 43-foot RV by taking the rocky uphill section extremely slowly. Sites sit well-spaced from each other, and some connect directly to OHV trails. "Woke up to a great sunrise and views of the Superstition Mountains," notes Sue B. after an overnight van stay.
Days bring steady ATV and off-road vehicle traffic, but nights turn quiet once recreational riders head home. T-Mobile cell service reaches parts of the area. Free-roaming cattle wander through the sites, which some tent campers find unsettling during nighttime bathroom trips. The location works well as a base for Gold Canyon Dispersed Site access or exploring camping spots near Queen Valley.
This free camping option suits RV travelers with sturdy rigs and off-road enthusiasts who don't mind daytime noise and livestock encounters.
