Owl Creek Campground

Bureau of Land Management operates this seven-site campground along Owl Creek, where ramadas provide shade over picnic tables and fire rings. Each site costs $5 per night and includes access to a small hiking trail that leads to a bridge and day-use area following the creek. One pit toilet serves the campground, and the grounds remain accessible year-round for both drive-in and boat-in camping.

Recent visitors report ongoing construction work that affects site conditions, with equipment present and early morning activity from work crews. Wildlife sightings include coatimundi, and campers exploring the region can find camping near Clifton for additional options. The campground allows pets and campfires, though some sites may have debris from construction activities.

Warning: Under Construction!

Stayed here in one of the three semi-completed campsites. Nice place to throw down off the beaten path. The entire grounds are a work in progress tho and the sites are littered with sharp objects like screws, nails, etc. So I had to setup shop outside the campsite a bit.

The construction crew has equipment all over the place. The team arrived early in the am and started all sorts of racket.

Beware: A resident construction camper is occupying one of three sites and he ran his super loud generator nonstop from 5pm onward. It was still going when I left around 7am. I didn’t sleep at all.

Favorite camping spot in AZ

We really enjoy this spot. There are 7 campsites with ramadas and fire rings. One small pit toilet. There’s a small hiking trail to a bridge that leads to the day use area and along the creek. We saw some coatimundi and lots of evidence of other wildlife! $5 a night is great too!
