Easy and convenient

It’s off season for being in this RV park but it was perfect for a quick stop over. The check in was quick and easy. The staff was very helpful and answered all of our questions. The facilities were clean. The hook ups worked great even in the snow. We weren’t bothered by the train noises as other reviews stated. This place was close to a lot of down town spots. The KOA has night time security and the bathrooms all have codes to get in, which is nice. Would definitely recommend.

Pretty KOA in somewhat dodgy area

Another reviewer mentioned it’s one of the nicer KOA parks and we would agree. The pictures with trees on each site are accurate and the amenities are good. The games room and pool were closed for the season but we had fun with polypong and basketball (court lights up at night) and they’ve modernized the shower facilities. Didn’t use the laundry. Hot tub didn’t look at all inviting although it was apparently still on. Sleep was not great with the freight trains blaring through the night and the city bus stop on the other side of the fence. Gave it a three star for that - apparently the KOA business model is to buy up cheap land around train tracks and this fits. There are lots of full time residents around (interesting to see how massive this park is) and there is a security guard on at night. We’d planned on switching to the state park but found it lacking compared to this. Convenient enough location for visiting the city. The staff worker we met was so unenthusiastic about her job that it was funny. Lots of sites available at this time of year but they turn the water off to the tent/small RV ones (was fine for us as we had a full tank).

Next to the road

The tents sites are along side the busy road so it got pretty noisy. But there is an amazing Mexican restaurant right next to the campground.

Nice location to visit the city.

Large amount of mature trees provide a nice canopy of shade. Spots are very close together. Lots of amenities: large pool, hot tub, clean bathrooms, showers, dog park, laundry.

Older but well maintained

Located in semi industrial area. Check in was easy and fast. RV spots closed to each other with shard. Gravel, level lots barely long enough for 44 foot motorhome with tow vehicle parking on side of motorhome. Good hookups.

For a KOA it’s okay

Nothing to get excited about, parking lot type of campground. Large amount of mature trees provide a nice canopy of shade. Spots are very close together. We use this when visiting family. Fairly quiet. Didn’t utilize the pool, showers or playgrounds so I’m afraid I can’t comment on that.

Great stop off, spendy but nice (and loud)

One of the nicer KOAs. Lots of amenities (hot tub/clean bathrooms/showers/dog park/trash/laundry). The truck/tent stalls have nice tall shrubs dividing them for extra privacy.

Be warned, if is NOT quiet - there are multiple trains/sirens/large semis blowing by all night. It was about $75 for a single night, but our original spot fell through and they were able to accommodate us last minute.

Not in the best neighborhood

Campground was nice like all KOA we have visited but we didn’t feel safe leaving our kids roam free. Will be choosing a different location due to this.

Nice spot in the city

The campground was nice. Warm showers and bathhouse that was fairly clean. It was still winter so not many other amenities. You are in the city so that comes with its own atmosphere but we never felt unsafe.

Could not wait to leave!

This park is in a terrible area with lots of transient people. We were approached by a man on a bike just trying to enter the bathrooms at night. We honestly thought we were going to get robbed. Management does not answer the phone, so don’t count on any immediate help from them. We couldn’t wait to leave.

Nice park, not so nice area

The park is nice, and my rating is primarily based on the area. The surrounding area is not so nice. Lots of noises from traffic, trains, airplanes, and the factory across the street. I would recommend staying outside the city, but if you absolutely need to stay in this area it is a good park.

Great Park!

This park was much larger than most we have visited. It was very handy to all the sights and close to downtown. Every space is paved and has plenty of shade. Cable, WiFi, and phone signals are good. Highly recommend. We stayed a week. $69 night.

First KOA Experience

This was our first KOA campground. Overall, we thought it was very nice and would return. Definitely a family orientated campground with lots of activities from swimming to basketball to a game room with free games! We were on Site#722. Level spot. Not much room for our Toad but we made it work. Asphalt driveway with trees and grass patio. Pretty close to neighbors. Laundry room was large and every machine worked. There is a dog park with Astroturf that smells on hot days. But it's a good space for the pups to exercise. Also has a very nice dog wash station several people took advantage of. AT&T and T-Mobile Cell Service worked great. Cable and WiFi also available. We had to extend our stay by 2 days waiting on a package to arrive. Which their office gladly accepts package deliveries. Nearby to restaurants and shops. Only Con was we were there during the Hive Music Festival and the music was thumping and could be heard from our site for two days. Just an FYI to check the concert schedule at the Fair Grounds if that would bother you. We have a white sound machine which helped. We camped at Salt Lake City KOA Holiday in a Motorhome.

Came late, left early

We came in at midnight on our way to Colorado. It was an easy check in process and they gave us a map to our campsite. We called ahead just to make sure we knew where to park and the night watch was able to get us settled.

We did wake up to the sounds of the street behind us and happened to come on lawn service day next door but other than that it was a pretty nice spot for a rest.

The wifey did not like the location!

Solid KOA campground with all the amenities you would expect including a pool and spa. Location of the campground is near the downtown area, with that you get all the noise of the city; traffic, sirens, and train horns. However it was the questionable downtown crowd the wifey didn’t like and didn’t feel as safe in this campground as she did others. And just a side note she was born and raised in Fresno which is basically the armpit of California lol, jk…………so when she says an area is “sketchy” I believe her.

Great Well-managed Campground for Urban and Travel Camping

I always place reviews like this in context.  This is not a wilderness or solitude seeking campground, it's in the middle of a 1 million plus population metro area!  However, it is shaded, very clean and organized and surprisingly quiet for the location.  Online reservations and expedited check-in are excellent.

Healthy grass and shade trees, and level, paved pads and drives.  Clean functional restrooms, and all the amenities to make camping here easy.  Great for kids and pets (appropriate, fun facilities).  This is one of the higher-quality KOAs we've used on long road trips with a small camper/RV.

If you are traveling in an RV and wish to stay parked, there is public transit to city-center and amenities a couple blocks away.  I assume it's within most private ride-share service areas as well.

Great location, WiFi suspect

Great location when visiting Salt Lake City. Very large campground but well maintained. WiFi keeps on throwing us out or is slow.

Only 45 minutes to Park City which is a must when you are in the area. Take a slower route via Solitude back, just beautiful.

The Zoo

*No one has been their best during the shutdown of 2020*

We chose this location because it was right downtown and close to the zoo.  Having a full group of 3 kids (5 & under) 3 dogs, 3 adults, and a cat we need some things that others don't "need."  We also run our company from the road so we need space, a place to play, and great WIFI.  These are the basis of our reviews.

This KOA was run down, dirty and nothing was open due to the shutdown.  The wifi wasn't very good.  We won't stay here again because it doesn't meet our needs.  It is a great place to stop for a night, get up, and go.  Other than that....nah!

Things we loved:

  • The staff was incredible, fun and friendly.
  • 20 minutes from the zoo.
  • Dog wash and park
  • Mexican restaurant

Not so much:

  • Dirty, unkept
  • Wifi was horrible
  • No public bathrooms (pandemic)
  • EXTREMELY HIGH water pressure

Close to downtown

This campground is surrounded by inner city-like activity. The common areas were filthy and staff didn’t seem concerned. We were there for a Month, so I got a good representative time period. It’s close to the train to downtown which was good. The hot tub was old and very small and shallow...and not very hot.

Very Nice Campground

This is a lovely large Kampground (yes, I used a K), that is close to the airport. We expected the airport noise, but not the trains.

Our space was wide and long to accommodate our pickup truck/25' TT and the hosts were super sweet.

They allowed for late arrival, and when they opened, they were very accommodating for our questions.
