Decent stay over spot
The people here are great, location is ok, convenient to a lot of St Louis attractions. Large spots, but they are close together, no fire pits, but good power, water and sewer connections.
Spacious for our Big Rig, Paved, Level
We loved how spacious it was. The roads within the campground were double-wide so we had no trouble turning and getting into our spot. The sites were double-wide concrete. We were able to park next to our 5th wheel with enough room to not feel crowded while using the picnic bench. Also the site was level.
We stayed for a week to enjoy St. Louis, St. Charles and Meramec Caverns (about 1 hr away). The Katy Trail is right behind the campground, so one day we walked into St. Charles historic district via the trail, since we had our dog with us.
We liked everything about the campground itself, but for some it might be considered too noisy. It is near a highway, there a railroad bridge right next to it, and it is under the airport flight path. The planes and trains stopped after about 10-11pm I think. The lower# sites are closer to the trains, and the higher# sites were further away. We have gotten used to noise, and my husband loves watching trains, so it didn't bother us one bit.

Nice spot close to nature and parks
Good spot for an overnight. There is a park and lots of trails. Clean facility, store and nice paved spots…picnic table on pavement. Rules here make it quite nice…doesn’t look like tons of permanent campers.
Spots are pretty tightly packed, but the maintenance makes up for the proximity. Everything is very clean.
Only downside is the train and airplane noise. Otherwise would be a 5 star for me.
Great for 1 or 2 Night
Only a one nighter while heading east. Lucky to get spot on Friday night. Nice level concrete pads but definitely a bit crowded. Lots of big rigs. Very nice folks who checked us in. We seem well connected. Nice old downtown of St. Charles. Worth a walk. Art and stuff. Below the pattern for STL and railroad crosses Missouri River nearby so you could call it noisy but didn’t bother us much. Will probably use for same type of visit in future.
Nice spot in St. Charles convenient to St. Louis airport
Sundermeir is like a little RV oasis in the middle of downtown St. Charles. Close to just about anything you want to do in the area. Grounds are well maintained and have a walking trail that takes you to along the river. There was some construction going on along the path when I was there but all in all it was a great stay!
Nice campground
Staff was very courteous and helpful. Facilities were very clean and neighbors were very nice. Read some of the previous reviews about noise, honestly a couple planes here and there. Not a big deal at all. Slept like a baby.
Good site
This is a easy to access, quite campground. Full hookups, concrete pads. No firepits. Close to a bunch of stuff. Fast wifi.
Stopover
Called to see if any spots were available about two hours out and they had a couple of backin spots. We got site 41 and it was perfect with our 31’ travel trailer and we did not have to unhook. To hot and tired to walk around but there is aa park and access to a walking trail that looks nice. It is on path of airport it seems but plane noise does not bother us. It was not to bad.
It was ok
Positives: Really nice people at check in. It does have 30 amp service even though this app shows it doesn’t. 30 pound water pressure. Nice level concrete pad with a picnic table. Right off highway 370.
Opportunities for Improvement: Expensive for what you get. On Lambert international airports flight path, next to a major train trestle, right next to Highway 370. No campfires. Very industrial around the park. Very urban environment. Approached by a person wanting to know if I had “some.”
Best kept secret
If you don’t know anything about this place, I would recommend it! The sites are level and clean, and the lady who checked me in was very nice and accommodating. You are a stones throw away from Katy trail which will take you to downtown St. Charles. The trail is about 1.5-2 miles to get to downtown. You can bike or walk there. You are on the final approach for the airport, so I’ll could be a lil noisy for some. The only bad thing which isn’t the campgrounds fault, is you can’t have a camp fire due to the city ordinances. But if that’s the worst....I’ll take it. Wish I had taken pictures of the campground but there was so much to do in St. Charles that I forgot to take them.
Close to St. Charles and the Katy Trail
You can literally be parked right at the Katy Trail. Through the gate at the rear of the campground, and you can bike for miles. Easy ride in to St. Charles a wonderful historic river town on the Missouri River. Great shops, great restaurants. As for the campground itself, we love it and have camped there many times. Full hookups, great pull through sites. It's small, right in town, but immaculate and the office folks are great. We highly recommend. One caution, if you don't want to see trains going by on an elevated trestle in the distance, or be on a flight path from Lambert Field, it's not for you. But my train and airplane loving husband loves it.
