Short Stay
We crashed here overnight on our way further up north. We decided to go wayyyy up into the Keweenaw and wanted to break up the trip. We stayed here for one night in one of their cabins. It was clean and comfy and allowed our dog too! We did not have time to explore the amenities of the campground but if I were to make the trip again, I'd stay here.
End of summer
All in all, it’s a nice campground. Been better and lots worse places. 50% of the sites are wooded and have at least partial shade and some have a lot. All sites are gravel and only the ADA spaces are concrete. You can have power and water or pull throughs have sewer connections. Staff is very helpful and pleasant. They are very knowledgeable about the local attractions and where the best deals are! Being a lake type campground, it’s a mixture of grass and sand. The more shade the less grass and more sand, so bring your broom and dustpan. As with most KOA’s there are games and things to do for the kids. Mini golf, carpet ball, volleyball, etc. No direct access to the lake though. Still, I’ll come back in the future.

Spacious, clean, friendly…so much fun!!
Having a great time! The spots are quiet large. Laundry room!! Great play area for kids! Friendly staff!!!
Off season camping
Enjoyed our stay. Very quiet but we were here at the beginning of October. Hardly anyone here. Appreciated the laundry and water hookups as we have been in the woods the last three days.
Nice and clean
Sites are close together. Pull thru sites with patios are very nice. Facilities are very clean. Staff polite and welcoming. OTA TV reception good/cable included (24 stations). Wi-Fi coverage and bandwidth good but may be limited for streaming. Good choice.
Nice campground for resort area
Back in sites are close together but viable. Pull thru sites with patios are very nice.
Top notch campground
Stayed here for 3 days in a travel trailer. Good sized sites, fairly level, friendly staff. Clean facilities and ample amenities. Only con was expensive to use clothes washing machines.
Nicest KOA I've ever stayed at!
This was by far the nicest and most spacious KOA I've ever stayed at. There were a ton of trees and nicely wooded spots. We had site #16 right near the front, which meant we had some traffic noise and kids running to the adjacent playground, but the spacious lot size made up for it (and having 3 kids of our own, we didn't mind the playground being so close). Big towering pines and a soft bed of needles kept our site shady and cool with plenty of room to set up our camp chairs and hammock. Made for a relaxing place to read. The back campsites looked really nice and were much quieter.
The pool was a little on the older side, but was clean and warm. There was (free) mini golf for the kids - pretty basic and again, older, but the kids didn't care. A couple of old-school playgrounds as well. Laundry facilities were clean with 6 washers and 6 dryers. The "dog run" was pretty laughable, as I'm finding with all KOAs - it was at most 20' x 20' square, so not much room for bigger dogs to actually run around. Wifi provided an excellent signal. The staff was friendly, but not very informative about things to do on Mackinac Island or the surrounding area.
Good Base Camp
It’s what I expect at a KOA. Nice level pull though spots, good amount of space between campsites, very clean facilities and plenty for kids to do(pool/mini golf). The only weird thing about the sites was the water hook ups were shared (which is tough for a pull through) so we needed three hoses to hook up. Not a huge deal just a tip. Super close to the docks for a trip to Mackinac Island which was great.
Never Again
I gave it one star because the staff was courteous. The first site 67 we got error code on leveler (excessive slope) not to mention the water is on the door side of the spot. Had to use 40’ of water hose. We were able to move to a full hookup site 14 and the water once again on the door side of the camper about 4 feet away, which site 13 used also!! Approx 70% of the sites the water is on the wrong side of the spot. They told me Big Rig Friendly!!!! I would not go if over 35’. Trees and narrow roads. We will never go back. Water pressure non existent. Had to use fresh water tank. See pics.

Needs updating
Our stay was enjoyable but think the campground would best be represented without the Holiday classification. Pros: staff friendly, informative and helpful. Gave us a loaner 20ft of sewer hose when our 20ft would not reach. Also accommodated us with a extra day without moving sites so we could visit the island( heavy rain) on the planned day. Location great for visiting Mackinac Island . Con: unlevel site front to back, too many trees (for us). Electrical , water, sewer laid out oddly. No concrete patio or paved roads. WiFi didn’t work. The park apologized for the inconveniences on the sewer and will be making corrections on that .
Horrible experience
Greeted with a huge pothole in the driveway entrance. Dirt roads in campground. Small rundown miniature golf area. Very small unheated pool. In level pull thru overgrown with tree limbs. Cable not working. WiFi not working. Very tight. Kubota constantly driving around filling potholes with stone. Kid constantly driving around on a John Deere lawnmower delivering wood. 20 ton gravel hauler truck driving thru campground to deliver pothole stone.
Nope, not a good time
A great base for day tripping
Spent four nights here while we explored the surrounding area. Took two trips out to Mackinac Island - the ferry sompanies have free pick up at the KOA. The tour of Soo Locks is only an hour north, and was another great experience.
The campground had a nice pool and mini golf was well maintained. It rained most of one night which caused some muddy spots but not terrible.
Our party was in sites 28, 14, and 15. This gave us an almost private campfire area at site 15, shielded from all other campers. The bug open field behind 15 was a great place to exercise the dogs.
Meh
I was underwhelmed. The camp site had the bones, but probably should not be called a “holiday” KOA. The sites were very thin, se we never had a fire. Which was fine because they never had any wood. The pool was “out of season” so the kids did not get to enjoy swimming… which would have been fine had this been disclosed some way prior to check in. Like on the website or something.
Great place to stay
This place was great. We went with about 4 other couples and the shuttle they have to the island ferry’s is great. They even haul your bikes there for you. The location is great. All in all a nice campground.
Good location
We stayed here on a trip up to visit the Mackinac Island. It was great for that as they offer a shuttle service to the ferries. Site was small and awkwardly set up. But a goo place for the home base of the day trips we took. We had fun playing the mini golf that was offered there. The staff I talked to was helpful with the questions I had.
Too expensive
Super expensive, and wasnt the cleanest. Definitely wouldnt go back there to be honest with you, only did that night cause we had no other options.
Not very helpful staff
Half of the camp ground was under water. We booked three sites together over the phone. When we got there we were not together. When we asked about it we were told that they had to move people around and this is the best they can do. The pool was green and not useable. They did offer a shuttle to the ferry’s to Mackinac island. So that was nice.
