A beautiful, full service, RVPark!
I stayed here for three days last summer. I had just picked up my newly built out camper van in Durango and was doing a four day “shake down trip” to check out all the systems before driving back to Maryland.
Everything at Echo Basin was top notch, the staff, the camp site, the bathrooms and showers and the location. The campground is so well done and maintained. My only regret is that the restaurant was not open the days I was there.
It is not in the city but Durango is a short drive away.
Thanks for the review David, we appreciate the time our guests take to let others know what a wonderful time they had here. Please come see us again soon. Tom
Great Views, Great Amenities, Great Service, Great Trip
We stayed at Echo Basin for 2 weeks and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The views of the surrounding mountains are spectacular. The grounds are clean and well kept. The pool was closed for the season so we didn't get to use it, but we did visit the on-site bar/grill. We were expecting mediocre bland food, but the food was REALLY good. The people making the food really know what they're doing. The staff was very friendly. The sites aren't crowded together. We stayed in one of the spots that has 50 amps and full hookups. Everything worked as expected. We'll definitely return to this park the next time we're in the area. Highly recommend.
Thanks for the great review Ryan, we're glad you enjoyed your stay and look forward to your return. Tom
GORGEOUS Campground!
Loved loved loved our stay here! Tucked away from the highway and far enough from any big city, you want nature and stars at night? This is the place! We backed up to a huge green field. The gentleman that helped us back our 42 foot rig into our site gave PERFECT directions, telling my husband which was to turn our wheel which make this a first try back in. The owner was the kindest man we enjoyed getting to know. No dog park, but a large open field we're allowed to utilize, letting the pups off leash. They LOVED it! Mesa Verde NP with the cliff dwellings are a short drive away, perfect day trip. We should have stayed here a whole week!
Thanks Melody, we are thrilled that you loved your stay. come see us again when you're in the area. Tom
Nice friendly
Bathroom spotless, hot showers, guest laundry. And a pool
Thanks Terry, we appreciate the review. Tom
Nice, quiet campground
It’s beautiful, quiet and relaxing. We have enjoyed our stay here. Would stay again.
Serene and Beautiful Family Owned and Operated Campground
One of our favorite campgrounds we’ve been to!
This is a serene, beautiful, and fantastically family owned and operated campground set in the foothills of the Rockies. Great walks around the property and on nearby forest service roads make for a great outdoor experience. The large turf areas at the front of the campground are fantastic for children or groups. Mancos and Durango beyond have everything you could want in terms of small town restaurants and stores and larger town supplies. We can’t wait to return!!

Quiet and serene
Large sites with a picnic table and fire ring. Quiet and large park grounds to enjoy. Owner was very nice
Fun Family owned campground!
What a wonderful place to stay! Tucked back off the main road up in the hills! The Staff is GREAT! Lisa at the front desk makes you feel right at home and very welcomed to be here. The sites are nestled in among tall pine trees and spacious! They have someone that shows you to your site as well! That's service! Much appreciated!
Beautiful setting
Great location for accessing many things to do in the area. Clean campsites to fit any size rig. Friendly and helpful staff. Only con for our family the pool closes at 6 pm, as does the store.
Big rig friendly
Great park for larger RV's we have a 40 ft toy hauler plus the added ramp patio plenty of room. Park is very clean and quiet plus pet friendly. Lots of large Ponderosa pine for shade and scenery
Overall setup was nice!
It had been a while since I put up a tent, but EB had a few level areas specific to tenting, although the provided bath house was not centrally located. There were 2 toilet stalls and 2 shower stalls - relative to the majority of campers and cabin-users. There is a pool! EB provides a great eating area and bar to replenish your “spirits”. A great place to camp for reunions or gatherings. Removed from town, but close enough to spend the day exploring the region. Plenty of trees to hang a hammock, too!

Great RV, cabins and campsites
We stopped here on the way to the Grand Canyon and were very pleased. Of note, Waze and google maps do not go to the correct location based on address. They both take you to a private residence. Apple Maps did get us there correctly. The resort is well maintained with plenty of things to do. There’s also a full bar and grill open until 10 that worked out well for us as we were tired from driving all day. I highly recommend.
An oasis in a desert of closed camping
We had laid out several options for our stop in the Durango,CO area but in early April all were closed. We saw there sign—it said OPEN. It was a beautiful campground nice sites. The bathhouse wasn’t open yet but we are self contained so it was fine. The views were great and staff very nice. Looks like they multi use the space as the “lodge” is set up as an event venue which would be wonderful.
