Directions

I-25 exit #135, South Academy, head west on South Academy past Pikes Peak Community College, continue west to Highway 115, turn left (south) on Highway 115. Turn right at the first stop light, JL Ranch Heights Road (also the light for Fort Carson Gate 1), the park entrance is to the west. Go west and follow the road into the park. Look for state highway signs directing you to Cheyenne Mountain State Park.

Wonderful getaway close to the Springs

What a wonderful campground, so clean and close to town. The campground was surrounded by walking trails and even a frisbee golf course. Sites had full hookups and complete with a table, large fire ring, and tent site as well. Facilities for showering and bathrooms were close and extremely clean! Camp host also had bundles of wood available. Highly recommend, we will be back!

Amazing sunrise views

Unbelievable sunrise views from campsites 1-10. Mid March bathrooms were open & water running. Good passive design, so they were even a bit warmer than outside. Arrived after 10pm & all gates were unlocked, easy to get in.

Great RV spots with a view

Spacious spots with full hookups. There’s a park entrance fee in addition to the spot rental. Park entrance fee is available to purchase via an automated kiosk.

Beautiful and clean

Excellent campsite for RV full hookup! I used this space for over a week for a shakedown run with my new travel trailer. This site is just 7 minutes from society which is a plus and a minus. Good for close camping but not so good for “getting away from it all”.

Good. Average state Park

I typically disperse, but needed a quick night. Stopped in. The visitor center employee was not friendly. I tried to home with her and was super nice. I got nothing. Saw some deer and elk. Quick access to CO. Springs and Manitou Springs. I'd stay again if I want full convenience. Showers and laundry. $50

Great view campground

The campground has a great view of the city and the mountains, the installations are the best showers bathrooms etc. We will definitely stay in this park again.

New and modern facilities

By far one of the nicest state parks in Colorado. Every site is huge and several pull through are on sides of the hill with sweeping view of Colorado Springs. Nestled up to the Air Force NORAD complex the nature is unspoiled all the way up the mountain. Tons of trails the only sad part is our dogs only have limited trails they are allowed on. Bear, large cats and lots of deer visit regularly (well at least the deer are regular.

Excellent State Park

Colorado Springs offers much to do and this campground is a great spot to unhook. “The Meadows” is one of the loops...all level spots here, full hook-up. Not much privacy or shade, but would still highly recommend. The park location is close to Garden of the Gods, Manitou Cliff Dwellings, Pike’s Peak and more. The park offers many wonderful hiking trails...and a frisbee golf course. Convenient drive to grocery stores and restaurants.

Nice Campground

This is a nice campground with a good view of the mountain. There are some nice trails from the campground and it’s close to Colorado Springs.

Solid tent site

Very nice small stone tent pad that is about 10x10. Cement area next to the tent pad with a metal/plastic coating picnic table. Fire ring is very modern with a grill surface that covers the entire fire (not like the old school flip down that only goes over 1/3 of the fire ring). Bathrooms are clean. Shower is good only thing is it is a quarter operated system. They do have a quarter dispenser for bills. Tent spaces are pretty private. They do allow dogs but only in the camping area. Most trails they do not permit. Tents are a very short walk in (40 yards at most)
