Caton Place Campground

About three miles southwest of Cavendish, Caton Place Campground operates as a privately managed facility from Memorial Day through November 1st. The campground caters primarily to seasonal campers, with pull-through sites available for visiting RVs up to 43 feet in length.

Site access presents mixed experiences for larger rigs. While one reviewer with a 40-foot fifth wheel found "easy to drive into the campground and into the site," another camper with a 43-foot motorhome reported challenging road conditions, noting the owner required blocking the entrance during setup and describing difficulty with narrow roads and uneven terrain that caused bottoming out.

The campground maintains full hookups including electric, water, and sewer connections, plus amenities like WiFi, showers, and a dump station. Multiple reviewers emphasize the facility's upkeep, with David noting the "campground was very clean and well manicured." However, bathroom facilities receive varied feedback - one visitor found them "outdated" with limited shower access, while others describe "clean updated restrooms."

The campground welcomes pets and offers both drive-in and walk-in access options. Campers seeking alternatives in the region can explore campgrounds around Cavendish for additional choices. The facility works best for seasonal campers and smaller to mid-sized RVs comfortable with potentially tight maneuvering.

Nice well maintained Campground

Camped here Labor Day Weekend in our 40 ft 5th wheel. We had a pull thru site. Easy to drive into the campground and into the site. We had no issues at all. Hosts were very friendly and helpful. Campground was very clean and well manicured. Pet friendly, and we met a lot of nice folks. We will definitely be back!

No friendly service

This past holiday weekend we went to the campground. Upon arrival the owner made me go with them to the site and leave the motorhome blocking the entrance into the campground. The roads aren’t wide enough to take a motorhome into. The pull through site is not level and is barely long enough to fit my 43’ rig (with my motorcycle lift). The owner was very unfriendly. Driving out of the site was just as bad. You have to go down a small hill and bottom out the front and then drag the backend out of the dirt. This campground is not big rig friendly.
