Willard Peak Campground

Just under a mile from Willard Bay State Park Campground, Willard Peak Campground operates as a privately managed RV park accommodating rigs up to 71 feet with full hookups. The facility sits between two busy roads that quiet down after dark, making it suitable for campers who don't mind some daytime traffic noise.

The campground features flat gravel pads that make setup straightforward, with grass areas adjacent to some sites. Recent improvements include a newer building housing clean restrooms, showers, and a laundry facility equipped with amenities like a TV, book station, and vending machine. Fred A E. notes the "bathrooms and showers are clean," a sentiment echoed across multiple reviews. The mix runs about half short-term travelers and half long-term residents, including seasonal workers and winter skiers.

On-site managers provide text check-in and organize regular activities like grocery bingo, game nights, and monthly free waffle dinners during summer months. WiFi service can be unreliable, though T-Mobile cell reception works well according to several campers. Two off-leash dog parks operate within ten miles of the campground.

The location provides convenient access to Willard Bay for boating and serves as a base for exploring the surrounding area, with shopping and hiking trails nearby.

Many visitors reported excellent host service and clean facilities as major strengths. Some road noise during the day, though most found it manageable for sleeping. Good value for both overnight and extended stays.

Text Check-in Rules/Basic but comfortable close-quarters RV fare

Great for an overnight without taking a chunk out of the pocketbook. Flat gravel pads, so easy in & out. Looks to be about 50-50 short-term/overnight campers to full-timers. The managers are super nice and their “text check-in” is wonderful. The campground is by two busy roads, but they get quiet at night, no problems sleeping. If you are super sensitive to noise, this may not be the spot for you. But it is quieter than being next to the freeway.

Fantastic stay for work

Campsite was chill, neighbors kept to themselves.

I was usually out by 7:30am and back after 7 pm, so I had minimal interaction.

Facilities were always sparkly clean and in good repair.

Hosts were extremely friendly, helpful, and all around great people.

WiFi did not work the whole time I was there, so be aware and plan accordingly. If you need fast internet, this is not your place. For me, it was a mild inconvenience, as cell reception is okay for Verizon.

9/10 would stay again for work trip.

Easy in and easy out

Park and Play location. If you read the review from someone in 2021. The building was built in 2019, along with new everything. There are seasonal contracts for Traveling nurses, military, contractors here, so you will see those types of long terms here. They get LOTS OF winter skiers for winter months and a lot of boat users for the summer because of the Willard Bay only a month away. The facilities are cleaned and get cleaned daily. There are events here from grocery bingo, craft classes, reading clubs, Tuesday game nights and Thursday game nights, free waffles for dinner once a month and muffins and treats and coffee for the guests daily during the summer month along with other things the host do. New manager host took over October 2022 and work their butts off. They even give goodie bags during the summer months. They upt the dog poop fine from $25 to $100 because they mean business. It's small and it's not a resort but they have outstanding customer service.

It's the onsite managers who make this place worth staying

It's not a resort but the heart and soul that the on-site managers put into this place is what makes this place special and great. They do so much BEYOND what is required of any rv park staff workers.

My experience while I was there. And I was there for 2 months the summer of 2023. The power was out for 9 days, and Mark and Evielynne worked around the clock, providing pizza, a cooling station, non stop games going, free ice, free ice-cream, their own personal generator to a guest who didn't have one. They worked so hard that not one negative feedback or review came in against the RV park.

A camper that was traveling through the area broke down. Mark went and towed them in and gave these people rides to and from to get things fixed. It took 3 days and they got back on the road.

Police was called in on a major domestic situation and within 2 hours, they were removed from the park.

The managing host goes as far as providing events which for years nothing was ever done for the rv park. They really try to be creative with providing things to do for their guests. I love my goodie bag they give during the summer months for their guests.

Bathrooms and showers are clean. They have a laundry room that has all kinds of cool things like a tv, book station, a pantry, vending machine and a jigsaw table so we have something to do while doing laundry.

They have grocery bingos and once a month free waffle day where these managing hosts cook for the guest.

I only heard about Willard Peak Campground because of the past rv park they worked at, when I asked where they were. So that's how I came to be a guest. The rv park is small and there isn't space for a whole lot of wiggle room so they have done amazing work to work within that space to make it fun for their guests.

The owners whoever they are, I sure hope they know how lucky to have staff that go beyond the scope of things just for their guests. Any RV park would be lucky to have these two.

I plan on coming back this summer (2024) for a month. I want to stay longer but my plans call for me to travel more. But I'm gonna state for the record, that Willard Peak Campground is my favorite when at a time it wasn't.

Absolutley Fine.

A well kept, relatively pleasant place to stay. Great staff and friendly live in residents. No pool, no playground and I like it that way. Adequately spaced sites with nice grass beside or in front/back of some sites. Our end site (gravel) was level with grass. , exceptionally clean bathrooms and showers. Laundry and vending. T-Mobil reception was excellent. Location was good for shopping and exploring the area. Bonus, Two off leash dog parks within ten miles for our spoiled pup. Usable free wifi for internet access but not TV streaming.

All in all a nice place to spend a few days and explore the picturesque area. Fantastic sunsets are a plus. View of Willard peak from our campsite is awesome. Definitely would return.

This place was a real dump

This place was a real dump. The pictures made it look 100x better on the website. We had made reservations and got there and they didn’t even have a spot for us. I also didn’t see any restrooms or laundry.. It honestly looks like everyone that is there is living.. lot of junk everywhere. We asked for a refund and went up the road to the KOA.
