Within Utah's Jordanelle State Park, Hailstone - Upper Fisher Campground provides direct access to the 1,360-acre reservoir through both drive-in and boat-in options. This state-managed facility operates from May through mid-September, accommodating RVs up to 60 feet with full hookups including electric, water, and sewer connections priced at $35-$50 per night.
The campground sits close enough to the highway that road noise carries through sites, particularly at night. However, campers consistently praise the maintenance standards and cleanliness. Katie J. highlights "big, clean bathrooms with running water, mirrors, flushing toilets, & hot showers." Daily housekeeping keeps restrooms spotless, and each site includes a cement pad, picnic table, fire ring with cooking grate, and level tent areas.
Site selection matters significantly here. Several reviewers recommend avoiding spots near the dump station due to odors when wind shifts from the west. Sites 44, 46, and 51 receive specific mentions for their reservoir views, while some locations feature steep slopes that challenge RV leveling. S. B. notes that "every single campground has a view of the reservoir" and describes "plenty of trees for hammocks too."
The boat ramp provides direct water access for fishing and boating, though the reservoir sees heavy traffic from nearby population centers. Additional amenities include laundry facilities, a playground, WiFi service, and a dump station. Campers can explore campgrounds around Park City for alternatives in the region. The Hailstone - Lower Fisher Campground offers another option within the same state park complex.
This campground works well for families seeking full-service camping with water recreation access, provided they can manage highway noise and don't mind the seasonal crowds that come with reservoir proximity.
