Leeds Canyon Dispersed #5

About two miles from the town of Leeds, this dispersed site sits along a forest road within Dixie National Forest. The campground features a designated pull-through loop that separates campers from the main road traffic, with an additional tent area tucked further back for extra privacy.

Site #5 receives regular use from both weekend campers and ATV riders traveling the forest road system. Reviewers note decent cell coverage at this location, though service becomes spotty further up the canyon. The red rock formations surrounding the forested area provide a distinctive Southern Utah backdrop. Large RVs can access this site, though the road becomes more challenging beyond site #6. For those wanting to explore other campgrounds around Leeds, several additional dispersed sites continue up the canyon road.

Visitors often highlighted this as the best dispersed site on the road, featuring excellent privacy and stunning red rock views. Some noted limited cell service and challenging road access for larger RVs beyond site 6.

Beautiful views, nice hiking area

Did an overnight here with the fam passing through with 35’ travel trailer. Not totally suited for large RVs but was a good quick stop and great camping area. There is also a short hiking trail right down the road - walking distance. We had a great time!

Beautiful views

Amazing Views. I loved having the designated campsites. My dogs loved it. The only downside was virtually no verizon service.

Tucked Away and Private

Probably the nicest of the designated dispersed sites along this road that we saw. It's tucked away from the main road, with a turnaround loop for your car and a spot tucked even further back for your tent. You have no neighbors and you're nicely separated from the road.

We didn't stay here but drove along this road up until sites 7/8. Almost each site was taken when we drove through on a Saturday in October, and there was a lot of road traffic by hikers and ATVers.

The road gets a little sketchy after site #6, with a pretty hairy narrow patch that was a little scary but survivable in our 26 ft class c. We wouldn't recommend any really large rigs past #6, but #6 has a loop for turning around, if the loop is free from vehicles.

Cell service is decent in this area, though it does start to drop off around #6.

Beautiful surroundings here, beautiful red rocks all around. Nice and peaceful place to stay.
