Visitors often highlighted the spacious sites accommodating large RVs well, but common feedback included warnings about soft sand conditions requiring careful driving. Campers regularly cited good privacy with dispersed camping options.

Spacious, Shade Trees, Sandy

We like this spot because it was easy to access, had shade trees and was clos to sand dunes as well as some things we wanted to do just north of Kanab.

Because of the sandy soil it was easy to grade our tent site and dig a fire pit.

The only down side was that this place clearly gets a lot of people playing with guns as evidence by broken targets everywhere and most importantly broken glass which makes walking barefoot sketchy. The sand is so soft my daughter had a hard time having to wear shoes.

It was a banger!

This site was close to the road, but in our quieter season, it wasn't too loud. You can hear the main road noise in the distance, but not too bad. There was lots of space at this site. You could easily group camp here. There's sand every where, so it's very easy to dig a pit for your fire and latrine to leave no trace. The site was level enough for is to car camp. We walked back to find there is at least one site back away from the road farther if this one is full. If you go much farther the sand road gets a little looser. I'd worry if you didn't have at least AWD going back there.

Hancock road sites

This site is a pull off of Hancock road it’s easy to get to the fire ring. Would be great for multi group it’s real big and I expect after too long the road noise will die down.

Area off Handcock road

This road is full of pull offs to setup and camp. Much of it is pretty soft and in some areas deep sand, but had the area we picked all to ourselves. The closest other camper was about 1/4 mile away. We had Verizon service although it was a little sketchy.

Coral Pink Sand Dunes

We are camping at a state destination camp site. No fee and 14 day limit. Great site but be very careful with the very loose sand at these sites. Approximately 11 miles from the state park.

Pretty Great in December

We were lucky to have stellar weather and this spot was great. We do a good amount of SxS Riding every day and absolutely love this spot and area. We are in a 40ft Motorhome with a 24ft trailer and had plenty of room to maneuver around in the site. We will probably hit this one up again next winter. We had zero trouble driving across the sand. No sinking, no loss of traction.

PS: Sand Arch just up the road and a cool little stop.
