You MUST use the Growden Gate, which is located off US-90 near the intersection of US-151. From US-90, take the Acme Street exit and turn South at the red light and then right at the stop sign onto Gowden Dr. (N29.40631 W098.58794). Follow Growden Dr. South/West for a couple miles. Enter the Gowden Gate (24/7) and bear right at the Y onto Andrews Rd. Andrews Road changes names to Kelly Dr, (total about 1.75 miles). Not public access

The Growdon Gate was closed, so could not enter that way. GPS took me to the Military Dr. Gate in attempt to get to the coordinates. The officer at the gate made it clear the campground is only for people with military ID or veteran status.

Good value camping

We came to San Antonio without reservations. This is a first come campground and they had several open spots. We are staying here for 3 days. Campgroynd has a laundry anf Lacland AFB has all other amenities we might need. I

Simple Campground

The FamCamp is small and simple but affordable place to stay while you’re in town. Although the sites are paved, there is mud everywhere during rainfall. Only one side has shade.

It serves it's purpose

Basic RV campground, NO privacy, no shade. Well maintained and off by itself so low traffic. Easiest way to find it is go in the gate nearest the hospital on post.
