RV travelers crossing West Texas find a well-maintained overnight stop at this elevated campground positioned on a hill overlooking Fort Stockton. The park sits directly adjacent to Interstate 10, making it easily accessible for big rigs navigating the long stretches between major cities. Staff members guide arriving campers to their assigned sites and assist with parking, a service that proves helpful given the pull-through layout and gravel surfaces.
The hilltop location provides 360-degree views across the surrounding landscape, though campers should expect the typical white dirt and rock terrain of the region. All sites include full hookups with reliable 30 and 50-amp electrical service, water, and sewer connections. "All spaces are large and pull throughs," notes Jesse V., highlighting the big-rig friendly design. Many sites feature covered picnic areas with cabana-style enclosures, and the park maintains level gravel pads throughout.
Amenities include a swimming pool, clean restroom and shower facilities, laundry room, and two designated dog parks for pet exercise. The property features patriotic decorations including multiple flags and a prominent American flag display. WiFi service covers the campground, though streaming is discouraged to maintain bandwidth for all guests. A walking path circles the property, and common areas include a pavilion with seating and outdoor games.
Interstate noise carries across the elevated site, particularly from trucks using the nearby highway corridor. The access road can become muddy during rain events, as the local soil turns into what one reviewer described as "sludgy mud." Reservations require calling the office directly, with booking windows limited to 45 days in advance. For additional overnight options, campers can explore camping near Fort Stockton or consider the Walmart location less than two miles away for basic overnight parking.
