Cub Lake Campground #2 — Natchez Trace State Park

Had a premium FHU site right on the late near the dock. Beautiful views of the lake. Bath house was immaculate and laundry on site. Lots of availability during the week.

Nice RV park. Full hook ups in Pin Oak.No cell service in most of park

This gem is worth staying. Be mindful there are several RV sites in the area. This review is for the Club lake campround.

Had to call to book a reservations since we wanted to book same day. The woman on the phone was the sweetest person and was so helpful.

Campground is quiet and back off the main road. We did car camping, just FYI.

Will say make sure you download the map before you head in. There isn’t cell service at least for Verizon. It’s a bit confusing to see where you’re headed and where the Campsite 2 is, at least if you arrive at night.

Wish we could have stayed longer.

The restaurant is amazing (order the catfish). There is a beautiful lake but we did not catch any fish. The space was rather large, needs some trees but beautiful anyway. Hiking, fishing & very clean.

After the Covid lockdowns, this was the perfect getaway for our family. The bathrooms were clean, the campsites were a good size and well shaded.  We went to the beach at Cub Lake for hours every day!  There were several playgrounds around the campgrounds, I'm sure we tried them all.  We had an electric site around the corner from the beach, near an older playground and bathrooms.  The lake is BEAUTIFUL!  The cabins looked wonderful, too. We liked that they had both a fire ring and grill.  The lake water is pretty dirty, but we had plenty of fun. There was also a nice visitor's center and walking trails.

I've been going here since I was a youngn' and it never fails to disappoint. Nice views with nice people all around and some of the hottest showers of you life. 10/10 would recommend.

We tent camped in the Cub Lake loop, campsite 2, site 2. The restrooms was incredibly out of date. Loop 1 looked like all the sites were on an incline falling down a hill. Loop 2, our site was flat but some others in this loop were on an incline. All sites, restrooms and the park overall looked dilapidated and like it needs some TLC. There were water pumps though. Would not stay here again.

I liked the layout of the campsites they give you just enough space that you’re not right on top of one another.

The bathrooms are super outdated but the place is not expensive so that’s not a real complaint.
Dead bugs and cobwebs All over the bathroom and no soap for washing your hands.

Seems like it would be a great place for people who bring their horses camping with them. Lots of woods and trails and shade it was pleasant.

Stayed for just a night and was a good spot to rest our heads. Our campsite was easy to find (we came late at night). Our spot was right by the water and a short walk from the bathrooms. Bathrooms were kept pretty clean. Good views and felt safe.

Such a great park. We showed up, swam in a beautiful and clean lake, and then cooked dinner and used the incredible bathroom facilities and did a campfire with incredible neighbors. Woke up and used the great shower facilities and hit the road. Will definitely be back again

We stayed at the Cub Lake campground, which I prefer as the sites are treed and shaded, unlike most sites at Pin Oak. We preferred the sites towards the middle of the campground. Keep in miind that the sites closer to the lake are indeed beautiful but they are also close to the summer swimming area and playground. If you don’t mind the high pitched noises of squealing kids at play in the water, then those sites are for you. Nice clean bath house next to camp host who sells firewood. IMO Pin Oak is the prettier lake and we kayaked and fished there. Kayak rentals at the club house located at Pin Oak Lake by cabins. Nice bike trails and hiking.

We loved this little area- we had it all to ourselves! There is so much accessible water to take a dip in or even kayak if you had the time. We were just looking for a place to relax between Johnson City and Hot Springs. Everyone was really laid back about the dogs too- they were able to be let off leash without any problems.

We stayed here on recommendation from a local friend, we loved all the water. We brought kayaks and rented paddle boats (from the park). There were some camp sites close to a playground and showers, those are where you want to be if you have kids. They also had a ranger boat tour for a small fee (didn’t do it, maybe next time) and ranger activity for kids (about local animals & it included a craft). The sites themselves were pretty typical of TN state park, we liked it.
