Anglers and boaters will find Unity Lake State Recreation Site Campground positioned directly on Unity Lake's shoreline, with two-thirds of the 35 sites offering lake views. The campground sits 4.3 miles north of the small town of Unity, accessible via Highway 26 through what reviewers describe as a scenic drive with no services along the route. Full hookups accommodate RVs, while tent campers can choose from grassy sites with varying proximity to the water.
Afternoon winds regularly pick up across the lake and persist until after sunset, creating conditions that appeal to fishing enthusiasts. Sandy S. noted that "the fishing looked great," with fellow campers sharing their catch of fresh trout. The campground's young trees provide minimal shade, which reviewers mention becomes challenging during hot summer days. Clean restrooms and free showers serve all sites.
Cell service remains limited even with signal boosters, though some campers successfully use satellite internet systems. The facility includes a dump station and maintains paved sites with adequate spacing between neighbors. Mosquitoes can be numerous during warmer months. For campers seeking forest settings, Wetmore Campground offers a different environment 6.1 miles west in the mountains.
