    Beverly Beach State Park Campground

Oregon Coast camping in the woods

This is a beautiful campground between two popular towns on the Oregon Coast - Depoe Bay and Newport.  The geology here is amazing - you can have a load of fun looking for fossilized shells and agates at the beach.  The campsites are set among old trees - and are pretty private.  The prime spots along the creek are hard to get so plan ahead.  I always camp in the F circle so I have not had issues with highway noise - but some sites are a little close to the road.  Only 10 miles north of Yaquina Head natural reserve - and the city of Newport.  Great people - happy to help you with firewood and ice and any info about the area. Oregon State Parks do it right!

    We Love Beverly Beach!!!

Our first visit back in more that 15 years and not disappointed at all.  You have your camping sites in a woodsy location, with a very short walk to the beach with marvelous views of the Pacific Ocean.  Great places to eat nearby in both Newport and Depoe Bay.  You will not be disappointed!!!

    Beverly Beach State Park Campground

    Great campground at the coast

Beverly Beach is a great park, centrally located on the coast halfway between Depoe Bay and Newport.  We used it a a home base to do some epic tide pooling during some negative tides and it was perfect. Most sites in the park have ample trees for hanging hammocks, but a few don't (ours didn't). Due to Covid, the bathrooms weren't being cleaned as often as normal. Hopefully that won't last much longer. Bonus - there's a small store right outside the campground entrance that has just about everything you could imagine, including fire wood for a little less than in the park!

    Beverly Beach State Park Campground

    Family Friendly

This campground is one of our favorite State Parks! We stayed Memorial Day weekend and had a blast.

Located close to the Newport Aquarium, Yaquina Head, and the Whale Watch Center in Depoe Bay there are plenty of things to do and see!

The beach access was very nice and easy to navigate with small kids (no dune climbing here).

The visitor center staff were super friendly and the the kids had a great time taking advantage of the Junior Ranger Program offered.

All and all a great campground and we highly recommend!

    Tent camping

Well we did not know that when tent camping you can only stay two weeks we were originally told we could stay as long as we wanted as long as we moved and did not stay in a spot more than 7 days. Not a bad campground just don't like the two week stay rule. Plus my cat loves it. There is a natural that can be walked, a dog park, swimming pool, also a place to throw disc golf disc's.

    Sea and Sand RV Park

gorgeous ocean spot just south of Lincoln City - Oregon coast

this is a camper/RV place...they don’t allow tent camping (just a heads up). there are several spots on two banks that are directly ocean front. completely unobstructed view. many other sites with partial views and some forest spots. cleanest bathrooms I’ve even seen at a campground. office staff was warm and welcoming and has a list for us to pick up some fresh crab (one was even a fisherman off his boat in Depoe Bay). Reservations can be made 12 months in advance online. not sure if I would bring the kids here as I didn’t see many. mostly super friendly folks in their RV or camper...eager to swap stories and insights. highly recommend!

Month Long Stay at Corvallis KOA

Spent a month in an RV space at this KOA. My first experience at a KOA couldn’t have gone better. Staff was friendly, facilities were clean, and fellow RVers were quiet and respectful. We stayed here with a dog and were really happy with amenities such as the dog park and small trail behind campground. Really phenomenal and kind workers as well. Would stay again. We stayed during the wet season, and it was not very busy here. We did have some issues with moisture in RV, would definitely recommend having a dehumidifier. Showers and bathrooms cleaned daily and were very clean always. There is also a nice laundry facility (coin operated) and sink for washing dishes. Two bathrooms and a dog park. Electric hookups, black water dump, and water hookup at site.

Guide to Depoe Bay

The area remains accessible year-round with temperatures rarely exceeding 70°F even in summer months, creating mild camping conditions. Winter camping requires preparation for rainfall that averages 80-100 inches annually in this coastal region.

What to do

Beach fossil hunting: Beverly Beach State Park provides direct beach access where visitors can explore marine fossils embedded in rocks and cliff faces. "Nearly every rock and cliff face is littered with marine fossils of varying types and sizes and you can often find individual fossilized shells that can be collected," notes Erik C. about Beverly Beach State Park Campground.

Crabbing and fishing: Siletz River offers excellent fishing opportunities at Coyote Rock RV Resort. "There is a great little store for all your camping needs, so many fun things for kids to do, boat rentals, crabbing packages, and the best fishing around," writes Hailey about Coyote Rock RV Resort & Marina. The resort provides equipment rentals for visitors without gear.

Trail exploration: Several campgrounds connect to paved and natural trails suitable for various skill levels. "Near a great walk path (paved) and easy access to the beach. This is a great campground and very kid friendly," describes Brian P. about South Beach State Park. Walkers can explore dunes, forested areas, and beach connections through established trail networks.

What campers like

Clean facilities: Many campgrounds prioritize bathroom and shower maintenance. "Cleanest bathrooms I've even seen at a campground. Office staff was warm and welcoming," writes Michelle B. about Sea and Sand RV Park. Consistently clean restrooms and hot showers appear as highlights across multiple properties.

Beach proximity: Access to coastal beaches ranks as a top feature. "Large campground with tightly packed spots, but clean and quiet at night. Showers were nice and hot. Good access to trails and nice walk through the dunes to the beach," reports Jack T. about South Beach State Park. Most campgrounds offer pathways to beach access within walking distance.

Wildlife viewing: Coastal animal encounters enhance camping experiences. "The park's exceptionally clean bathrooms and well-maintained grounds create a comfortable environment for both pets and their owners," mentions Dean about Port of Newport RV Park & Marina. Otters, seabirds, and marine mammals are commonly spotted from waterfront camping locations.

What you should know

Reservation timing: Many oceanfront sites require booking well in advance, especially during summer. "Reservations can be made 12 months in advance online. Not sure if I would bring the kids here as I didn't see many," advises Michelle B. about Sea and Sand RV Park. Prime oceanfront locations often fill 9-12 months ahead.

Weather considerations: Fog, wind, and rainfall affect coastal camping year-round. "We stayed during the rainiest five days I've ever camped....but still had a great time. We were able to bike to town and the staff was fantastic," shares David & Sue C. about Thousand Trails Whalers Rest. Waterproof gear remains essential regardless of season.

Site spacing: Many campgrounds feature closely positioned sites with varying privacy levels. "Sites very close together, no privacy," notes Lisa O. about Lincoln City KOA. Forest sections typically offer more buffer space between neighbors than premium oceanfront locations.

Tips for camping with families

Educational programs: Several parks provide organized activities for children. "Nice educational programs for kids. Firewood conveniently available," mentions Kristen W. about Beverly Beach State Park Campground. Rangers often lead interpretive walks during summer months.

Playground amenities: Dedicated play areas provide entertainment between beach visits. "We love the Whaler's Rest. So many good areas for kids to play and the staff really does a great job planning activities for the whole family," explains Neil B. about Thousand Trails Whalers Rest.

Activity variety: Multiple recreational options prevent boredom during extended stays. "The entrance is right in Lincoln City, so you're close to lots of things to do as well as stores to shop at if you forgot any supplies," shares Minta J. about Devil's Lake State Recreation Area. Indoor options become particularly valuable during rainy weather.

Tips from RVers

Hookup requirements: Some parks maintain specific connection requirements. "Some sites in this area were only large enough for the RV and the toad or pull vehicle where as in the upper tree area there were many pull thru sites large enough for both rigs," explains Robert D. about Sea and Sand RV Park. Several parks require screw-down sewer connections.

Leveling considerations: Site terrain varies significantly across the region. "This RV park has a fantastic location oceanfront! The park itself has paved, concrete sites, each with a patch of grass," reports Melissa H. about Pacific Shores Motorcoach Resort. Premium oceanfront locations generally offer level, reinforced parking pads.

Size restrictions: Larger rigs face limitations at some properties. "They allowed us to stay in overflow even though all the sites were reserved. They still charged us full price but we were just happy to land somewhere for the night and get hot showers," explains Jenebi L. about Thousand Trails Whalers Rest. Length limits vary by campground section.
