Lake Selmac County Park

Part of BLM Land managed by the Bureau of Land Management, Lake Selmac County Park sits on the shores of a sizable lake in southern Oregon. The campground operates year-round with sites accommodating RVs up to 60 feet, plus walk-in tent options. Multiple camping loops spread across the property, with the Heron loop noted as the smallest and most primitive section.

The lake draws visitors for fishing and canoeing, while campers report watching water birds from their sites. Trees provide coverage throughout the campground, and reviewers consistently mention the area's quietness, particularly during weeknights and off-season periods. Clean restroom facilities and hiking opportunities add to the park's appeal. Some campers note the popularity of the site among locals during summer months, when birthday parties and events occur.

Sites offer electric, water, and sewer hookups where available, with campfires permitted and pets welcome. Paul H. notes "the kids enjoy the fishing and i love the view across the lake." Firewood sells for reasonable rates, particularly during off-season visits. For additional camping choices in the region, campers can explore places to camp around Selma.

Reservations help secure preferred sites, especially during busier summer periods when the lake sees increased activity from day users and local gatherings.

Reservation Info

Camping reservations can be made from three days to 9 months prior to the arrival date. Visitors often highlighted the beautiful lake setting and peaceful atmosphere with well-spaced campsites. Many mentioned clean facilities and appreciated the quiet environment, though some noted issues with restroom locations and dusty conditions during off-season visits.

Awful

I wasn't expecting what I found. The campground was completely empty except for me. It was very dusty and not very appealing. Not to mention the bathroom's were near the boat launch and not in the campground. Not really walkable. Needless to say I left! Since I am a solo woman camper and not wanting to get murdered.

Beautiful, Quiet Spot

Perfect for a weeknight stop when on the road, bathrooms were clean enough. Quiet on a summer weeknight. Beautiful forest.

Lovely Lake

We were down in Southern Oregon for the Caves.

We stayed in the Heron loop which was the smallest and most primitive, It was wonderful and we had the whole south of the lake to ourselves. Firewood here is not bundled and since it was off season we got a huge amount for$5. The hosts were terrific. This was a wonderful quiet stay.

 Will always be back.

This year it was pretty spendy for a tent site $24

Pretty area

Lots of lake like activities to do, it’s a popular place for locals in the summer and popular for birthday parties and events. Lake is large and fishing, canoeing are some fun things to do here.
