Double D RV Park

Highway noise fades to a distant hum at Double D RV Park, where level gravel sites sit just far enough from Interstate 40 to avoid the worst traffic sounds. This small RV park operates on an honor system, with campers selecting their spots and dropping payment in an envelope when no manager is present. The flat terrain makes setup straightforward for RVs up to 45 feet.

Each site includes 30-amp electric, water, and sewer hookups, though not all spots have picnic tables. Clean restrooms and showers serve the property year-round. Carly B. found it an "easy pull in, clean and well maintained" with power at each site. Overhead lighting illuminates the park after dark, which some campers notice when parking.

The location puts travelers within reach of several nearby options. SAMS TOWN ON ROUTE 66 sits less than seven miles east, while Texas Route 66 RV Park offers another choice about 18 miles west across the state line.

Texola itself remains largely abandoned, with empty buildings dotting the landscape and a historic cemetery worth exploring. The park attracts overnight travelers and occasionally hosts truck drivers who park just outside the grounds. Cell service reaches the area reliably for those needing connectivity during their stay.

Quiet ghost town

Texola is almost a ghost town. The cemetery is a great site to visit. Lots of abandoned structures. Rv park is small and quiet. A grassy place to overnight. Roger Miller museum nearby - King of the Road

Great Stop Over

Great spot for an overnight stop. Easy pull in, clean and well maintained. Power at each site. No manager on site. Can hear the highway- but not bothersome. $28 is a great price for the convenience.

My only complaints would be not every site has a picnic table and there are some bright overhead lights that we didn’t notice when we parked. But still a great stop and a great value.

Sufficient for our needs

We stopped because it was the first site east out of Texas. The place looked closed. No one was here. We chose a spot with trees and because it was borderline hot, plugged in a fan. There are bathrooms and showers. No fire rings. Just off the highway so some noise. Adequate for our needs.

Wrong info given

Pulled in to spend the night because it said tent sites on the app but the info posted on their board at the park said ALL sights have 30 amp so price is $28 per night. I

don’t need electric if I’m in a tent. App needs updated!

Quick and easy overnight

Campground is great for what it seems to be designed for. Hook-ups we’re flawless. We used Passport America, so price was cheap. It was right off the highway, so it was convenient. Lots of room to maneuver into level gravel sites. There’s a little town about 15 minutes into Texas with food and diesel. We ate at Rusty’s 66, which was good.

Great stop over point

After a long day of traveling, this campsite was a prize. It was far enough from the highway to not be disturbed by interstate traffic. The bathrooms and showers were very clean and working well. No one was on site so we left our money in an envelope honor-system style. We car camped and did not use electricity. The spaces were the flattest we have had in a while.

There was an RV already there when we pulled in and a camper van came later. One or two Mack trucks parked just outside of the campground. We felt extremely safe. Had a few furry visitors throughout the night, but we enjoy that. Think one was a cat and maybe a fox.

If you are passing through, check out this campground.. we’ll maintained and decent views!

On the boarder of OK & TX, this is an inexpensive place for an overnight stay.

Looks like a ghost town

This place is not well managed. Nobody is here, but anvelopes and drop box. It is next to the I-40 and for a night, is ok.
