Cataloochee Horse Camp — Great Smoky Mountains National Park

Horse camping takes center stage at this National Park Service facility in the Cataloochee Valley, where equestrians can access designated trails with their animals. The campground operates seasonally from late March through October, requiring advance reservations and prohibiting pets to maintain its specialized focus. RVs up to 30 feet can navigate the rough access road, though the terrain challenges larger rigs.

Forested sites include picnic tables and fire rings, with nearby creek access providing water for horses. Campers exploring the broader region can find camping near Great Smoky Mountains National Park for non-equestrian options. Cataloochee Campground offers a traditional camping experience nearby for those traveling without horses.

Fee Info
