Accessible via regular vehicle just a couple miles off Interstate 10, this Bureau of Land Management dispersed camping area sits on gravel and dirt terrain in the desert outside Deming. The site allows campfires and pets, with cell service reported by visitors. However, campers should expect industrial noise from an adjacent quarry during weekday operations, and the area shows signs of previous use with scattered debris including tin cans and glass fragments on the ground.
Temperatures can drop significantly, with one visitor recording 19-degree overnight lows. The open desert setting provides sunrise and sunset views across surrounding mountains. For a more developed option, Bowlin's Butterfield Station RV Park offers full hookups less than three miles north.
