Thousand Trails Sea Pines

Where the Pine Barrens meet Cape May County, Thousand Trails Sea Pines operates year-round on forested terrain with lake access. The Thousand Trails membership campground accommodates RVs up to 45 feet with full hookups, though maneuvering presents challenges on many sites.

Dense tree coverage creates tight quarters throughout the property. Multiple campers note that backing into sites requires precision, with some spots demanding "dead perfect backing" to clear overhanging branches. The layout allows campers to select their specific site upon arrival rather than pre-assigning spots. Daily bathroom cleaning maintains facility standards, though reviewers mention shower availability could be better during peak periods.

The on-site lake draws families, as "kids love the lake," according to Patti K.. A pool and splash pad provide additional water recreation. The property includes a large camp store and maintains quiet evening hours. However, experiences vary with some visitors reporting maintenance issues and crowd dynamics that don't suit all family preferences.

Other campground options in the region include Ponderosa Campground and Avalon Campground. The location provides access to Cape May attractions and boardwalks. Reservations are recommended, especially for summer lake season when families fill sites earliest.

Many campers appreciated the pool facilities and daily restroom cleaning. Site access can be challenging due to tight spaces and trees requiring careful maneuvering. Family-friendliness varies with some concerns about guest behavior.

Great location

Explore cape may and the boardwalk while in the area. Some sites are very tough and have some trees that occasionally make it so only a dead perfect backing could get you in.

Nice

Spots can tight and lots of trees, sometimes making it difficult to get in and out of. Great pool and splash pad. Kids love the lake. Bathroom cleaned daily. Could use more showers. Nice and quiet at night.

Meh

Clean and well kept, but it seems to attract a rougher crowd.

Not a family friendly place

Not a family friendly place; people skinny dipping in the lake, people smoking in public places, people cursing up a storm right next to our 3 and 4 year old, etc etc. On top of that there was trash everywhere and the laundromat was closed for the entire week we were there. Only saving grace for the place was the wonderful amenities in the area which meant we could spend as little time as possible in the “resort”

awesome place!

well maintained, wonderful pool and splash pad, great location!! it is a place where you reserve a spot but then pick out your specific site once you get there. only downside was there were not a lot of activities for kids but being so close to the shore do you really need all that?
