Coyotes call across the sagebrush at this free dispersed camping area along Catnip Reservoir within Sheldon National Wildlife Refuge. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service manages several large, level dirt sites with metal fire rings, accessible via two-track roads off County Road 34A that can become muddy when wet. One clean vault toilet serves the area, though no water is available. The reservoir attracts waterfowl and other birds, with cutthroat trout fishing available for anglers. Campers wanting more developed facilities can find places to camp near Adel about 30 miles away.
