Twelve miles east of campgrounds near Greenview, Lovers Camp Campground serves primarily as a trailhead for backpackers and hunters accessing the Marble Mountain Wilderness. This US Forest Service facility operates as a walk-in campground with pit toilets, picnic tables, and designated areas for both backpackers in the upper section and mule packers in the lower area.
Cell service disappears several miles before reaching the campground. The site provides a few shaded camping spots near the creek, though many visitors sleep in their vehicles as an overnight staging point before heading into the backcountry. The trailhead connects to the Pacific Crest Trail via a five-mile hike, making wilderness permits and campfire permits essential as Forest Service rangers regularly check compliance on this busy route.
Description
There are 8 walk-in campsites at the Lover's Camp campground, and access to the Marble Mountain wilderness via the Canyon Creek and Red Rock trails. There are also corrals at the lower parking area with a stock loading ramp and room for trailer parking.
