Timber Wolf Resort

Just off Highway 2 near Hungry Horse, Timber Wolf Resort operates on forested terrain with sites arranged at varying elevations along a moderately steep access road. The campground accommodates RVs up to 40 feet with full hookups, though several reviewers note that sites run on the smaller side and sit close together. Walk-in and hike-in options provide alternatives to the main drive-in sites.

The forested setting provides shade throughout most of the property, though campers can expect to hear road noise from the nearby highway. Site conditions vary considerably, with only a few tent sites offering truly level ground according to visitor reports. The bathhouse facilities include pay showers with restricted access hours, and floors often remain wet from shower use. A pavilion with gas grills and playground serves as a central gathering area.

"You can hear the road but it's not loud," notes Sarah, reflecting the campground's roadside location. The property also rents cabins and offers Jeep rentals for exploring the surrounding area. For those planning extended stays in the region, camping near Hungry Horse provides additional options within the Flathead National Forest gateway area. The campground operates seasonally from May through October with reservations available.

Guests commonly noted the scenic mountain location with good shade, but many mentioned concerns about cramped sites, paid showers, and high pricing. Road noise and uneven terrain were recurring issues, though the natural beauty and variety of accommodations received positive feedback.

Hope you like your nbrs

Like most higher priced "resort", sites are close together. Some closer than others. The road is a little steep, but not so that it makes it impossible to get in. The sites are not on the same level as your neighbors, but are close. The showers and toilets have restricted times for access. There is a pavilion with gas grills and playground. They do rent Jeeps. There is some shade. For the price, we looked for something else.

Nice, fair price for area

Stayed in a Pioneer cabin. Nice and clean. The downsides were it's a steel walk to grills, internet, and bathrooms. But very pleasant. You can hear the road but it's not loud.

Overall nice

We stayed in a little hut one night and camped the second.  It was the first time I had been asked to pay for showers but have since learned it is the trend out West.  Hut was crazy expensive for October and the tent site wasn't cheap.  Only a couple tent sites are truly flat, just FYI.  It was fine but for the money spent, a free hot shower was a no brainer to me.

Solid

While sites are on the smaller side and the whole thing's right off a busy road, there's beauty as you go up and over the hill, a huge variety of sites and lots of shade.  It's good for a shorter stay, especially if the COVID restrictions/crowd backups in Glacier Park are limiting things.  This is in a gorgeous part of the world.

ok stay

the RV area was narrow and did not allow much room to move around. the site was also partially on an incline, so care had to be used. the park is pretty with lots of flowers. bathroom floors wet from shower a lot of the time.
