Nugget RV Resort

RV enthusiasts looking for full hookups and resort-style amenities will find Nugget RV Resort operates as a comprehensive camping destination in Superior, Montana. The privately managed property sits among mature trees and offers multiple site categories, from premium full-hookup spots to water-and-electric options, with cabins also available for non-RV campers.

The campground maintains a resort atmosphere with extensive on-site facilities. Guests can access a swimming pool, restaurant and bar with live entertainment stage, volleyball court, and game room equipped with foosball and ping pong tables. "Very nice and sparkling clean showers and laundry," notes T Dawson W., highlighting the quality of the bathhouse facilities. The property includes hiking trails that wind through the acreage, plus designated ATV areas for off-road recreation.

Site selection varies considerably across the property. Reviewers consistently recommend sites P8 for larger rigs needing space for slide-outs, while sites 7 and 8 in the tree section offer more shade throughout the day. Site B2 provides good shade for bigger rigs. Water pressure receives positive marks from campers, though the 30-amp electrical service may limit some larger RV operations. Cell coverage shows T-Mobile getting three bars while Verizon drops to two bars in most areas.

Train noise presents the primary environmental consideration, as freight trains pass through the nearby canyon with horn blasts that echo throughout the night. Highway noise remains more distant and less intrusive. The campground operates with Good Sam affiliation and accepts reservations. Fall visits encounter fewer crowds and showcase changing foliage, while summer brings full resort activity levels. For additional camping options in the region, campers can explore camping near Superior or check nearby Campground St. Regis for different settings.

Visitors repeatedly highlighted excellent amenities including pools, clean facilities, hiking trails, and outstanding customer service from welcoming staff. Train noise at night was noted by some campers, though most found the resort well-equipped for families.

Another Good Visit

We had been to this campground before, so check-in was quick and easy. We were escorted to back-in site P8 with FHUs but only 30 AMP. We had specifically booked this site online and wanted to his large site with enough room to put our back patio down. The utilities are pretty much centered on the pad. Water pressure was very good. We got 3 bars on T-Mobile, so we used our T-Mobile Home Internet versus Starlink this site and loop has a lot of mature tree. We got 2 bars on Verizon. Tried to login into the CG WiFi several times, either did not connect or did not see the WiFi for an option to join. They have a nice laundry and camp store. We enjoyed walking our pups on the trails throughout the property. As we were here the first week of October, the campground was not too crowded, which made our stay even nicer.

We Gave Nugget a Try

We decided to stay here because we’ve seen this campground(CG) featured the last five year’s we’ve been on the road by CG review websites, travel forums, and big-name RV bloggers. So we thought we’d give Nugget a try. We followed our RV GPS to the CG that is near I-90, but far enough away that you don’t hear highway noise. There was another camper checking in when we arrived, but check-in was fairly quick and thorough. There was a sign about being a Good Sam Member and we had to ask to get the discount as that option was not available for the online reservation. We then had a very friendly escort to pull through site 63 with FHUs, which is supposedly a premium site. This gravel site has a little grass yard with a picnic table. The site is across from a community fire pit and couple of their little trail heads. When we were there in July, there was a fire ban so not having a site fire pit was no big deal. The utilities are nicely placed in the middle of the pad. Water pressure is good at about 50 psi. We got 2 to 3 bars on Verizon. As there are a lot of mature pine trees in this CG, satellite is iffy. Our campsite was at the north end of the CG facing the woods, so we used our Verizon MiFi versus Starlink. We probably could have gotten the Starlink to work if we put the antenna on our roof, but as we were only here for three nights, we didn’t try. There’s a nice trail system around the CG to walk with your kids and it is dog friendly. They offer a lot of amenities of which laundry was one that we did use. There’s a nice 9-hole golf course just down the road. They used to let veterans golf for free on Wednesdays, but now charges vets only$5. The CG also had a food truck one evening that was convenient. We wanted to see what all the hype was about and we got the chance. This CG has a lot to offer families or campers who desire a lot of comforts. Overall, its a nice and well run CG, but we are not compelled to repeat with all the other options in the area.

Nice.

Great spot to find at the end of a long drive day. Just the kind of Rv spot for Montana. Trees & stars in big sky country. The layout was nice with lots of spots to choose from. The fall colors were great. The wifi was spotty from the far spot we got other then that perfect RV camp site. Also price was good.

What more could you ask for?

This campground is a Good Sams CG. I agree with the previous reviewer in that it does remind me of a KOA. There are different levels. Premium sites. Standard sites. W/E sites. There are cabins. I nice camp store. Laundry room. Nice clean restrooms with showers. And. Really nice owners.

The area is beautiful, set in the mountains. The Clark Fork River running nearby. Hiking. St Regis is nearby for provisions and they tour having the best huckleberry shakes in MT.

Great family campground

Great place to stay if your in the St. Regis area. You don’t have to leave the campground if you don’t want to with tons of great activities. Bathrooms were good, showers could use some work but they were clean and had hot water. Tree sites 7 and 8 would be our preferred sites. Larger rigs look at B2. It’s shaded throughout the day. The hiking trails on site were fun and also the FS trails nearby are great as well. Only complaint is that the train echos pretty good through the canyon the town is in so noise was an issue at times throughout the night with the train horns.

People who love their jobs? Count me in.

Come by to experience some of the best service ever.  They welcomed me into the gift shop, gave me a tour, had me talk to the owner… and what DON'T they have?  Volleyball, a pool, restaurant/bar with stage, foosball and ping pong, huge acreage for hiking on one side and ATVs on the other, but… and a tear is going down my right cheek as I type this… no tent sites.  They will only be down to a handful of these cool cabins next summer.  And it's a busy vs. a peaceful feel within the campground.  Overall, these guys are marvelous.  Come witness the healthy glow.

It’s a KOA/Good Sam

Close placement so no privacy for larger RVs. Some spots for smaller campers/tenters only needing water/electric hookups are more private. Very nice and sparkling clean showers and laundry. Nice hiking trails and scenic open field with frisbee golf. Pool. Some train and highway noise but pretty far off.
