Off Highway 2 in northwest Montana, Logan State Park Campground sits directly on the shore of Thompson Chain of Lakes. The forested campground accommodates RVs up to 30 feet with electric, water, and sewer hookups available at most sites. Paved roads connect the camping areas, and some sites include dedicated boat slips for direct water access.
The lake provides the main draw here, with campers launching boats, kayaks, and paddleboards from the on-site ramp. Nancy C. notes it's "right on the lake" with opportunities for "boating, fishing, kayaking." Several reviewers mention the campground's cleanliness, particularly the heated restroom facilities. Sites are generously spaced throughout the wooded setting, with Loop B offering the most lakefront positions.
Highway noise reaches the campground, though most campers find it manageable. Cell service is limited or nonexistent for most carriers. The campground operates year-round with reservations available, and a dump station serves RV campers. A trail connects to the nearby Thompson River for additional fishing access.
For those wanting boat-in camping options, Logan State Park Campground Boat Slips provides water-access sites just across the lake.
