Glen Campground

Glen Campground provides free camping through Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks at this fishing access site. The campground accommodates RVs up to 30 feet with at least one pull-through site, plus designated tent sites with individual parking areas and a centrally located pit toilet.

Located along the river, the campground draws anglers and offers direct water access. Multiple camping loops can accommodate solo campers or groups, with sites separated enough to provide space between neighbors. A gravel road provides easy access from the main highway, keeping the site reachable for larger rigs while maintaining a more remote feel than roadside stops.

"Easy gravel road in and out and at least 1 pull through site for bigger rigs," notes one camper who found the area quiet with minimal fellow campers during their July visit. Mosquitoes can be heavy during summer months, particularly in July. The campground sits in bear country, requiring proper food storage and awareness.

Since this is a pack-in, pack-out facility with no water spigots or garbage collection, campers must bring their own water and haul out all trash. Previous visitors have noted maintenance issues with litter left by inconsiderate campers. The site works well as an overnight stop for travelers on Interstate 15, positioned close enough to town for supply runs but far enough out for a camping experience.

Campers appreciated this free, well-maintained BLM campground near Dillon with sites for both tents and RVs. Basic facilities include pit toilets, but visitors must pack out all trash and bring water. Easy access from gravel roads with fishing available.

Great Space to Camp, Fish and relax

Glen Campground is a great place to stop when passing through Montana on the 15. It’s not far from town or the freeway, but remote enough to enjoy a few nights of camping. It is bear country so be mindful of that when planning your visit.

We stayed one night on our way back to Spokane and it was cold but beautiful. Lit a fire and enjoyed the beautiful April 2025 Full Moon.

You must pack in/pack out all of your belongings & trash.

Best Free BLM Campground Ever!!

I’m not sure why others gave this campground reviews any stars under five! First, this campground is on BLM and free, and only costs money if coming with a group of many or some type of organizations’ camping outing; and the fee is so very minimal even for this. For regular, independent camping, it’s free being on BLM land, per their notice board. Despite being a free, BLM campground, it’s well-maintained, clean, possesses established, separate tent sites with a parking block for each separate vehicle, an area for RVs, even, and a maintained outhouse central to the tent sites and RV space. It’s also set right next to the river offering great fishing! There’s homes across the river, and a bit of vehicle traffic from those specific homes, for whatever reasons; but this campsite is still very much separated, regularly maintained, and flippin’ free! What’s there to possibly complain about?! I’ve camped free on BLM land many times, and it is pretty rugged and wild. There are no established tent or RV sites, no outhouses for the bathroom to use, nothing. You make of it as you will. I’m not understanding why every camper hasn’t given Glen Campground five stars! Also, future campers, PLEASE remember to pack in and pack out of ANY campground, including this one. Though it is maintained, they do not come daily as it is a free campground on BLM land and does not have garbage bins or water spigots. The campers that stayed before us, in the tent site next to ours, left litter everywhere and aluminum and tin cans in the fire pit. Come on now, people! Beer cans, canned vegetable cans, and the like are NOT biodegradable and do not burn down in a camp fire! Use common sense!! Pack in AND pack out all your items, including your GARBAGE!!

Nice free camping

Nice free camping area with fishing access near a nice river. Only 9 miles from Dillon. Easy gravel road in and out and at least 1 pull through site for bigger rigs. When I was there in July, big mosquitoes were swarming me! But a little deet resolved the issue. Only 1 other person camping there. Very quiet!

Bare bones but sufficient

Stopped here on the run home from Canada. 5-6 loops that would allow a single camper or groups. Can fit a big rig if necessary. Pit toilet
