Military campers can access hiking trails and Missouri River kayaking from this Air Force base campground located just outside Great Falls. The facility operates two separate areas: the updated Gateway FamCamp off-base with concrete pads, and the original on-base Annex Campground with gravel sites that haven't been renovated in over 30 years.
The Gateway location provides full hookups on mostly level concrete pads, though campers should expect some adjustment for proper leveling. Vanessa S. notes "there is a great walking trail just on the edge of the camp" and confirms "water, sewer and electric are provided." A shower house and laundry facilities sit at the entrance. The on-base Annex features smaller, closely-spaced gravel sites that are primarily back-in configurations.
Wind defines the Great Falls experience year-round, as the city holds the distinction of being America's windiest. Helicopter traffic from base operations creates regular noise, though the facility lacks an active runway for fixed-wing aircraft. The Missouri River provides nearby water recreation opportunities. Base amenities including commissary, exchange, and recreational facilities remain accessible to eligible military personnel and their families.
Tent campers should note the automatic sprinkler system cycles frequently and may impact ground-level camping comfort.

Gateway FamCamp is located just outside the main gate, and provides restrooms, hot showers, coin laundry facilities on site, with convenient access to a full range of support facilities on base.
Annex FamCamp is on base and provides restrooms on site and shower access at the nearby Fitness Center.
Both FamCamps are managed by Malmstrom Outdoor Recreation and fully operational May 1st – September 30th. During the winter Months (October – April) access to full hookups may no longer available. Guests have access to power only sites.

From I-15, take exit 278 heading East on US-200/US-89. Go about 6.25 miles and turn left (North) on US-87. In about 1 mile, turn right (East) onto 2nd Ave. Immediately BEFORE entering the main gate, turn right and go South on 62nd St. for .4 miles to FamCamp.
