Pleasant place

Stayed here for one night in a rustic site. It’s next to or part of a municipal park with playgrounds, picnic tables and beach access. Bathrooms are shared with the municipal park. Campground host was helpful and explained that the showers are kept locked (probably to keep out the day users) so we just needed to ask him to unlock them when we wanted to shower. Beautiful beach, quiet campground and close to the town. Have to register online and unfortunately pay an $8 processing fee on top of the campsite fee.

Great

Reading the reviews I was expecting a lot worse than what I saw honestly none of these things were event remotely true. It was clean and the bathroom was fine I have been here for that's 24 summers and will continue every summer

The people are nice

The water isn’t the cleanest, found dirty undies at our campsite and drug use in the bathroom

Nice but no facilities

Nice, quiet and on water. Price was $23 and apparently rest rooms were vandalized a while back and are still not fixed. No toilets or showers.

Only public beach in area

Camping here even in the summer requires warm clothes. The wind coming in from Lake Superior is cold. Watching the 1000 foot lake freighters come in the St. Mary’s River makes up for it though. Enough can’t be said for the wilderness found in the UP either.
