Queenslake Horse Farm

Where Kentucky's rolling countryside meets private lake access, Queenslake Horse Farm operates a small campground with just a handful of lakeside sites spread well apart from each other. Located north of Stamping Ground, the property combines a working horse farm with camping opportunities, though visitors should prepare for rough access roads leading to the sites.

The campground provides electric hookups and basic amenities including restrooms, WiFi, and firewood availability. Sites position between the lake and horse enclosures, with owners providing horse treats for guest interactions. Cell service reaches the property, and campfires are permitted. At $100-$150 per night, the facility caters to RV campers and those seeking an overnight stop that includes direct contact with farm operations and lake access for morning walks around the property.

Beautiful way to experience Kentucky horse country!

My wife and I were travelling through Lexington in our camper van and were searching for a unique place to camp for an evening.  We found Queenslake and booked one of their lakeside camp sites.  When we arrived the owners we very kind and showed us to the designated site.  There are only a handful of sites situated around the lake and they are all well spread out.  Our site was located between the lake and a small horse enclosure with several horses in it.  The owner of the horses was there visiting and left us some treats to feed the horses during our stay.  We enjoyed a nice campfire in the evening and had a great night.  When we woke in the morning we went for a walk around the lake to explore the property a bit.  We ran into one of the owners John who was walking his dog and he stopped to say hello and asked how everything was and told us about the farm and suggested some areas to check out.

Overall, this was a great place for our one night camp.  The property is beautiful and the owners are extremely friendly and welcoming.  Not being from the areas, it was a great way to experience a working horse farm facility in this beautiful countryside!
