Privately owned

Walnut Creek Campground is privately owned, Walnut Creek Boatramp is Army Corp of Engineers.

The Campground is very basic with campers parked in U configurations which works well if your with a group. I noticed though that the grass was a little long throughout the campground and the sites are all grass. Not sure if there was a lot of rain how firm the ground would stay and how much standing water tgere would be.

The tent area was across from the campers and at the very end in a shaded area. You have a lot of room to spread out and plenty of grass to pad the ground your sleeping on.

Porta pots are the available facilities, I did not check for freshness.

Down the hill is the Boatramp and Marina, which looks older but maintained. A nice area for a relaxing pleasant summer day.

Weekend get away

I have been here about three times and everytime I have been lucky enough to get great weather. My girlfriend and I spend most of the day hiking and playing in the water. The picnic areas were well maintained and I would recommend this place to anyone and their family.

Fun day trip

We have been out here a few times and it is always a day packed full of fun in the sun, there are picnic areas, and near by they have places to rent things like jet skis, the sites always seem clean and well kept, and it is definitely a fun place to bring the family
