Daniel Boone National Forest Twin Knobs Recreation Area

Within Daniel Boone National Forest, Twin Knobs Recreation Area operates as an established campground from March through early November. The facility requires permits for backcountry camping and provides an official app to help with navigation since cell service remains limited throughout the area. Campers can access nearby Zilpo Campground and other forest recreation sites within a short distance. The app becomes particularly useful given the spotty cellular coverage that characterizes much of this forested region.
