Last Resort Campground

With access to a fishing pond and paddle boats, Last Resort Campground provides a water-focused retreat for families exploring Indiana's camping options. The privately-managed facility operates from April through November, accommodating RVs up to 50 feet with full hookups alongside walk-in tent sites.

Campers describe a property split between two distinct areas. The full hookup section features tightly spaced pull-through sites that work well for shorter stays, while electric-only sites around the pond offer more room to spread out. Russell S. notes the convenience of pull-through access but recommends bringing "a good on-line water filter" due to hard water with an unusual taste. Traffic noise from nearby Route 30 and occasional train sounds filter through the campground, though most visitors find the levels manageable.

Weekend activities keep families engaged, particularly the Saturday night golf cart parade where participants toss candy to children. The property includes a swimming pool, playground, game room, and camp store stocking ice cream varieties. Small farm animals like chickens and goats roam the grounds, delighting younger campers. The laundry facility maintains two washers and two dryers at reasonable rates, though the water quality affects on-site washing effectiveness.

Seasonal and permanent residents occupy many sites, creating a community atmosphere that appeals to repeat visitors. Ant hills appear frequently across the camping areas, so insect repellent proves essential. The campground accepts reservations and participates in Passport America for discounted rates. Heather G. confirms "bathrooms very clean" throughout her stay.

For different experiences, Lake O' The Woods Club sits 14 miles west with expanded lake access.

Campers regularly cited friendly hosts and excellent family activities as standout features. While facilities are well-maintained, some noted tight full hookup sites and road/train noise. Most appreciated the variety of amenities including pond, pool, and special events.

Quiet, reasonably priced rest spot.

We stayed here two weeks while visiting friends in the area. The site was a little small but was pull through and full hookup. Even though we were close to a highway and railroad, traffic noise did bother us. The wifi did not reach out area but I know they plan to expand it's capabilities soon. The best part was free access to the pond, paddle boats etc and friendly staff. The low points were very hard (with odd smell) water to the point where we didn't trust using the on camp laundry. Make sure you have a good on-line water filter.

Nice campground

This is a Passport America campground, so the rate was great! We only stayed overnight, and we had a pull thru FHU site that was pretty level. The spaces weren't too close. We didn't use the showers or bathrooms. The laundry room was clean and had 2 washers and 2 dryers for reasonable cost. We did have a picnic table and fire ring and the office did sell firewood. There was a nice playground and game room. They also had a pond for fishing. There was some train noise.

Nice campground, friendly folks

We wanted a place close to my elderly parents house and Last Resort fit the bill. Overall it is a pleasant campground with a pool, a pond, and some weekend activities. There are a lot of seasonal/permanent sites. We visited twice and had spaces along the East end of the pond. The sites are relatively level but both sites had a lot of ant hills so be prepared with ant spray or another repellent to keep them out of the camper. It is close to Route 30, so there is traffic noise, but not too loud.

One highlight, especially for kids is the Saturday night golf cart parade. After dark the campers with golf carts do a parade around the campground and toss candy.

Nice, clean,good for kids

Spaces are TIGHT on the full hook up side. We have a 21’ and hardly got in. We were super close to fellow campers. On the other side of the grounds around the pond (electric only) sites were much bigger and secluded. Despite the tight space, the kids loved it here. Lots of activities- pool, playground, pond, camp store with a variety of ice creams (kids love this) they had some chickens & goats the kids loved playing with. Christmas themed activities the weekend we were there. They had laser tag, candy parade, crafts etc... oh and bathrooms very clean!
