Pole Bridge Campground

Within Targhee National Forest, Pole Bridge Campground sits along a creek with gravel road access that requires careful navigation. The US Forest Service manages this forested site where large camping spots include picnic tables and bear boxes for required food storage in active bear country. Two campers noted the creek proximity and wildlife presence, with one mentioning the distributed layout provides spacing between sites. The rough access road limits some vehicles but rewards visitors with creek-side camping. Campers exploring the region can find campgrounds around Ashton for additional options. Note that pets are not permitted at this location.

A beautiful, quiet spot

We visited here in early June. The forest is beautiful. There are gives off points and aspens, and add you make your way into the forest roads, there are Meadows filled with people, white, and yellow wildflowers. This, mixed with the rivers running through the area make a beautiful spot.

The sites here give more privacy than the ones closer to the main road. On our trip there were only two others at the entire campsite, which is well distorted and allows for some privacy and quiet.

The road to get there is dirty/gravel, but we made it fine in our sedan. This is also best country, and for storage is required. They provide a few bear boxes, and keeping food locked up in your car works fine, too.
