Nine miles from the town of Noxon, mostly on paved roads with a smooth dirt finish, Marten Creek Campground sits just feet above the lake level in Kootenai National Forest. The drive follows a straight, even route that makes access manageable for most vehicles, though the final stretch transitions to dirt road conditions.
Six scattered sites spread through the forest create natural separation between camping spots. Due to the dense foliage, each site feels isolated from neighboring campers. Bear boxes, picnic tables, and fire rings equip each spot, with several covered eating areas providing shelter during weather. Clean vault toilets serve the campground, and the facility maintains ADA accessibility. A boat ramp in good condition offers lake access, with ample space for beaching boats and parking trailers.
The campground operates on a 14-day limit with no fees required. Kevin C. notes the sites have "scattered sites in the forest" that feel "quite isolated." Holiday weekends bring crowds that fill the limited sites quickly, while quieter periods offer more solitude. The proximity to water level means easy morning walks to the lake's edge.
Campers seeking additional options can explore campgrounds near Noxon or check nearby Kismet Creek Camping less than half a mile west. No pets are permitted at this location.
