Saddle Creek Park and Campground

Polk County operates this small campground within a 3,000-acre wildlife preserve, offering both drive-in and boat-in access for RV and tent campers. Sites include electric and water hookups, with sewer connections and a dump station available. The location sits west of places to camp around Lakeland, providing a base for exploring central Florida's chain of lakes.

Multiple ponds throughout the preserve draw anglers looking to cast lines for bass and other freshwater species. Marissa J. notes "Great spot for fishing. Thrift and bait shop nearby." The property includes a gun range, and campers report generally quiet conditions despite the mix of activities. Ground fires are prohibited, though portable grills and fire pits are permitted.

The facility provides restrooms with showers, though some visitors mention the amenities could use updates. Management maintains the campground year-round, with rates ranging from $10-20 per night or $140 weekly. Pets are welcome throughout the property. For additional camping options in the region, Wilderness Shores Ranch & RV/Tent Campground operates nearby with similar amenities and lake access.
