Madison RV Resort and Golf Course

If coming in from the east/Tallahassee on I-10, avoid Exit 241 (Madison/Greenville). Approaching from US-90 requires sharp right turns to reach the campground( CG). Instead, take Exit 251 for an easier left turn onto the CG road. This was our sixth year staying at the resort, and check-in at the office remained the same under the new ownership. After checking in, we proceeded to back-in buddy site 60A with full hookups to meet friends in site 60. One change involved the golf process, as we needed to go to the golf course clubhouse to pay for a golf package, then return to the office to pick up a golf cart. Water pressure was acceptable at around 40 psi. Cell service showed 3 bars on T-Mobile and 2 bars on Verizon. CG Wi-Fi was on the slower side with download speeds around 7 Mbps, so we relied on T-Mobile Home Internet, which consistently delivered speeds in the 200 Mbps range. The CG has relatively few trees, so satellite service was not an issue. The local Winn-Dixie has closed, leaving Bob& Jim’s Market as the primary grocery option in town, with Dollar General carrying a limited selection of basics. Prices at Bob& Jim’s were on the higher side. An Aldi was renovating the former Winn-Dixie building during our stay and was expected to open in about six months. For broader shopping and services, the nearest major amenities are in Live Oak, about 30 miles away. During our two-month stay, we learned that the new ownership planned to renovate the golf course and facilities into an executive 9-hole course, with construction scheduled to begin April 14, 2026, and a projected reopening in the fall or winter timeframe. Plans also included removing the first two holes near the entrance to add additional RV sites, bringing the total site count to around 200. Based on our experience, we plan to return again next year.

We enjoyed this campground (CG) as this was our 4th year coming back. There is plenty of signage and GPS takes you right to the CG. You turn left after the railroad tracks that will take you around the golf course, past the clubhouse, and to the check-in office. Do not go to the clubhouse to register, it is a small parking lot not suitable for RVs. After we checked in, we proceeded to buddy sites 60 and 60A. We easily backed into 60A and set up for our two-month stay. Madison had a rough 2023 with hurricane damage that was still being cleaned up when we arrived in mid-February. Our nightly rate is based on the monthly rate and golf package. We enjoyed golfing on their 9-hole course. WiFi is better than normal for this sized CG and we got two bars on Verizon. We had clear shots of the southern or northern sky for satellite and several OTA channels. On the back of the office are showers and a laundry room with 4 washers and 4 dryers. Firewood& propane were available and included propane pickup(set the tank at the end of your site) and firewood delivery if requested. The CG has a nice mix of back-in and pull-thru sites. Our buddy site was spacious, but we would rate the other sites as"nearby." They also have three cabins for rent. This CG is not a kids’ destination(big pro for us) as there is no playground nor much to do for the young ones. The CG is more adult-oriented with a pickleball court and activities such as group walks or special events like golf tournaments/leagues, karaoke, game nights, and potlucks. There is a large(about 2 acres) fenced dog park with a fenced-off area for small dogs. If you are allergic to train noise, a train track is adjacent to the CG. Trains run periodically normally during the day. Otherwise, this is a quiet park considering its size.

As this was our third time here, we did not need an escort to our site, 60a, to meet up with our travel partners who were in site 60. Sites 60 and 60A are the buddy sites by the pond. Our nightly rate of$41 was based on the monthly rate, electricity, and a golf package with the cart. The CG area is adjacent to their well-maintained 9-hole course. WiFi is better than normal for this sized CG, and we got two bars on Verizon. We had a clear shot of the northern sky for Starlink, and there were several OTA channels. As this is a newer CG with not a lot of interior mature trees, there is no problem with satellite reception. Connected to the office are 3 very nice individual shower rooms and a laundry room with 4 washers and 4 dryers. If a washer or dryer breaks, they get it repaired quickly. Firewood& propane were available, including free propane pickup(set the tank at the end of your site) and firewood delivery if requested. The CG has a nice mix of back-in and pull-thru sites. Our buddy site was spacious, but would rate the other sites as"nearby." They also have three cabins for rent. This CG is definitely not a kids’ destination(big pro for us) as there is no playground nor much to do for the young ones, including they aren't allowed to operate the golf carts. The CG is more adult-oriented, with a pickleball court and activities such as group walks or special events like golf tournaments/leagues, karaoke, and potlucks. This year they added a very nice Tiki Bar at the pool. A huge bonus for us is the large(about 2 acres) fenced dog park. There’s a smaller fenced-off area for small dogs. We also enjoyed daily walks around the CG and along the front of the golf course. If you are allergic to train noise, there is a train track adjacent to the CG. Trains didn't run every day, but when they did, they have been during daylight hours. Otherwise, this was a quiet park considering its size. Madison has your basic amenities and a few restaurants. Valdosta, GA, is about 30 minutes away with the major amenities such as Walmart and big box stores. If you’re a foodie or desire a robust touristy experience, this is probably not the destination for you.

We had a clear shot to the southern sky for satellite plus quite a few OTA channels. There are 3 very nice individual shower rooms, plus laundry facility with 4 washers and 4 dryers. Firewood& propane were available and included propane pickup(set the tank at the end of your site) and firewood delivery if requested. The CG has a nice mix of back-in and pull thru sites. Our buddy site was spacious, but would rate the other sites as"nearby." They also added another cabin for a total of three. This CG was definitely not a kids destination(big pro for us) as there was no playground nor much to do for the young ones, to include they aren't allowed to operate the golf carts. The CG was more adult oriented with a pickle ball court and activities such as group walks or special events like golf tournaments/leagues, karaoke and potlucks. We had a clear shot to the southern sky for satellite plus a good variety of OTA channels. There were 3 very nice individual shower rooms, plus laundry facility with 4 washers and 4 dryers. Firewood& propane were available and included pickup and delivery at your site for propane tanks and delivery of firewood if requested. Golf carts moved around the campground as intended; adults driving at decent speeds, most with golf clubs in tow. They had a nice mix of back in and pull thru sites. Our buddy site was spacious, but would rate the other sites a little better than"nearby." This CG was definitely not a kids destination(big pro for us) as there was no playground nor much to do for the young ones, to include they aren't allowed to operate the golf carts. The CG was more adult oriented with a pickle ball court and daily activities such as group walks or special events like karaoke and wine tasting. A huge bonus for us was their large(about 2 acres) fenced dog park. We also enjoyed daily walks around the CG and along the front of the golf course. If you are allergic to train noise, there is a train track adjacent to the CG. Trains didn't run everyday, but when they did, there was one around 1:00 PM and another about 10:00 PM. Otherwise, this is a very quiet park considering the size of the park. The mobile RV repair service this CG recommends is very good, decently priced, and works with extended warranties. If you’re a foodie or desire a robust touristy experience this is probably not the destination for you. We will definitely be back.
