This free dispersed camping area in Roosevelt National Forest requires navigating through a residential neighborhood before reaching the forest service road. Campers drive down Ski Road until reaching a fork, where following the left path leads to the most desirable sites along a creek. The road conditions vary significantly—while some spots remain accessible to standard vehicles, others require 4x4 capability or good tires to reach safely.
Most camping spots sit alongside a creek that provides natural white noise throughout the night. Sites spread out considerably through the forested terrain, with fire rings available at established locations. Tree cover offers shade during the day, though mountain views remain limited from most positions. RVs up to 25 feet can access certain areas, but the rough road conditions make this location better suited for tents and smaller rigs.
Cell service proves spotty to nonexistent for most carriers, particularly Verizon users. Daytime activity includes motorcycles and off-road vehicles sharing the area, which can generate noise during peak hours. Marcos D. R. notes that "most spots sit on a creek that gives a good ambiance." Weekend crowds increase significantly during summer months, though early arrivals typically secure the better creek-side locations.
