Hikers and lake enthusiasts find direct trailhead access at Plumas-Eureka State Park Campground, where paths lead to Jamison Lake and other backcountry destinations within three miles of the sites. The 67-site campground operates seasonally from May through October, accommodating RVs up to 24 feet with full hookups and offering walk-in tent sites throughout the wooded property.
Jamison Creek flows through the campground, providing what one camper described as "a lovely soundtrack" from waterside sites. Ross H. noted the campground "was full but very quiet," with clean bathrooms and manageable bug levels during summer visits. Sites toward the back offer more privacy, while creek-adjacent spots fill quickly during peak season.
The campground provides flush toilets, hot showers, and bear boxes throughout the property. Bears frequent the area, with recent sightings reported by multiple visitors, making proper food storage essential. Mountain lions also inhabit the surrounding forest. An on-site museum operates near the check-in area, and the historic Jamison Mine sits within hiking distance. For additional options in the region, campers can explore camping areas around Graeagle.
Cell phone coverage remains limited throughout the campground. Reserve sites well in advance for summer weekends, as the combination of lake access and established amenities draws consistent crowds during the May-to-October operating season.
